ThunderMachine Update

Still making tweaks and changes to the design. I'm having circuit boards made to control the LEDs. Ultimately, there will be several parts of the design that have 2 or 3 versions. An FDM version, a DLP version, and an electronics version. I'll include schematics with the files so if you want to create the working LED flood lights/headlights/blinking police lights you can do it.

Thunder Machine update

The Thunder Machine render above is from last February. The model has undergone significant changes since then. I did a few quick "in canvas" renders of the new hood. It just has a much better shape. Test printing started today.

1979 Pontiac Trans Am

Back on October 30th, I did a test print for the hood of the Thunder Machine. Its a bit blocky, I kept it pretty close to the original toy. In my minds eye I always pictured Thrasher being very proud of that specific part of the Thunder Machine, it being the only part he bothered to wash or polish. I'm thinking now about redesigning it to look more accurate to the actual car than the toy. What do you folks think?

The December Plan

I've finished up working on some new items for Action Force and a 1:18 scale line that I can't talk about but I'm sure you will all hear about soon. I'll spend the next 2 or 3 days preparing for an Etsy store restock and holiday sale. After that, I finish up the 1:12 scale Thunder Machine and then immediately on to the next project..... The G.I. JOE Silver Mirage. I decided that I wanted to recreate some of the older G.I. JOE ARAH comic book covers a while back and issue 44 was high on my lis...

Just me rambling

I have a list in my head of projects that I want to do. For example. The very short list is (after the thunder machine) the  Silver Mirage, The A.S.P., The IMP, the Conquest X-30, the POGO, and the S.L.A.M. The Swamp Fire was on there but someone just made a really nice one. We will see. I also want to start doing Mobile Armored Strike Command stuff.

I for sure want to give the new Python Patrollers some cannon vehicles but they are a bit limited although they do include the ...

Busy busy busy

Hey everyone. I've been very busy the last few weeks. I'm thrilled to announce that I am now contributing to 4 different action figure lines and I am knee deep in some work for Action Force and a new 3 3/4 line being developed.

This has slowed down my progress on the Thunder Machine slightly but I am still hopeful that I will have a prototype printed by the end of the month.

I've had some solid delays getting my photo backdrops printed up but should have the first 3 ve...

Successful Split

My past attempts to split large prints like this did not work out. For whatever reason this one did so I will have the split file included with the download folder as an option. I also created the storage space behind the seat, and some detail cuts on the foot rest that were not on my original design. I plan to have the files available by COB Monday.

This print was done on my Elegoo Saturn with Elegoo ABS like Gray and Siraya Tech Tenacious. The back half was a 9 hour print. The front h...

Sneak Peek

I'm hard at work on the next 1:12 scale vehicle project. This will be the most complicated print that I have ever done. The police light assemble on top alone is 15 separate pieces.

Ferret Test Prints

I'm going to include these optional files with the Ferret. Based on the Ferret prototype that was seen in the original toy commercial and the back of the original packaging. Also updating the body to add the storage cover. I wasn't originally concerned with it but we can save some material by having this open space.

Ferret STL Files

The G.I. JOE/Cobra Ferret pictured above was the first that I was able to complete. The whole project cost well over $1000 to get to this point. Based on this first build I  have made a few tweaks to the design and I am test printing them now. Once I am happy with the files I will upload them here for Patrons in the STL Club. Thanks so much for you support!

Finishing an FDM Print

I haven't finished many FDM prints. I started getting serious with this one about a week ago. Many coats of glazing putty, filler primer and sandable primer to get to this point and it is not perfect. Still, I am happy with the results and cant wait to do some detailing and finally put this thing together.

I wanted some practice before I do the Classified Scale Thunder Machine next month. This has been a great learning experience. I'll bring the finished FL-86 Freightliner with me...

Assembly Required

November 5th and 6th 2022 is the 11th year of the Assemble Required G.I. JOE Show in Des Moines Iowa. The Show is put on by Codename Iowa. They reached out to me about a month ago looking for permission to use my original (Tinkercad version) XMLR-3A file from Thingiverse as the basis for a CON Exclusive weapon set. As I am mildly embarrassed by that old design I offered to let them use the new model or better yet let me do the design work myself. They happily agreed.

CLAWs Up On Etsy

I've been making 1:12 scale Cobra C.L.A.W.s for G.I. JOE Classified figures for a few months now. I am only able to create a few every week and they turned out to be fairly popular so demand is still a bit high. I'm going to give Patrons the first opportunity to know when I have restocked items like this.
