Oren's Forge PG 126/127
I wanted to put together something explaining how I approach comic panels, so, here we are!
There’s no right or wrong way to approach anything in art, this is just the way I decided to do Oren’s Forge.
Here’s the reference photo I based the panel around. I liked the hint of washed out blues and sagey-greens, thought I could give it a early morning/pre-dawn feel. (It’s off Google Images after searching for dry riverbeds.)

Just one page this week! My apologies, but I'm a little behind this month... two more pages coming next week, however!

The rabbits pretty much follow "Watership Down" style of rabbit names-- basically, they're all named after a native plant. Oren's Forge it set somewhere similar to the Black Hills of South Dakota.
I've got a few options below, but please feel free to suggest something!

Here's the the cover artwork of the second French volume of Oren's Forge (which, assuming everything goes well with the publisher, should be out next year.)
In the original thumbnail, I was going to include Egg's muzzle, but it ended up being a little too cluttered in my opinion.

Hey, everyone!
To avoid stress and anxiety with posting on a schedule, I am usually about three or four weeks ahead with finished pages. It’s given me enough wiggle room to take unexpected days off when I needed them and plan around times I knew I’d be out of town.
So, that brings me to a little (bad) news.
It’s been a rough few weeks. One of my dogs was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. After meeting with an oncologist we realized surgery isn’t an op...

I thought I had this week set to auto update like the others. I'm out of town for a couple days and don't have immediate access to the right files. I can wrastle some up long distance from my partner later tonight, however, so the pages will just be a bit late in coming (but still coming!)

When the first part of Oren's Forge was published in France, these were some ideas I had for the back cover. (The one with the forest and the wolf is what I ultimately ended up using!)
(And as a tiny side note-- the second book will be coming out in French too, just still hammering out details!)

Stone Hollow fella. He originally was just in the background a few times but I upgraded him to a speaking role a while ago.

When I'm trying to work out/visualize a scene, I usually scribble poses or angles until I get close to that "what I'm going for" vibe. It helps me distill down ideas into individual panels.
I drew these last night and (maybe because it was 3AM) I thought it was funny. ;]

You'll (eventually) see this guy once or twice if you keep your eye peeled... ;]
