WYVERN interior sketch

working on what i want the cockpit of the mech to look like. shoji kawamoto is probably my biggest inspiration here, though the level of depth and detail he manages to cram into his designs is. insane. as this is an interior shot that i will have to draw over and over, i'm trying to focus on large, dynamic shapes, with detail secondary.

Hey! here's a bunch of bonuses from my submission to a fashion zine released earlier this year, run by the FF Collective (@TheFFCollective). 

i have attached a .psd file (which has some slight colour variations due to the conversion from .clip) where you can see my inks, background, character, and sketch work. also attached is a high resolution version of the same image.

cockpit

picked up my nib pen and ink for the first time in a bit... i think i definitely enjoy it more than digital inking, no matter what. 

india ink, watercolour, and white gouache with a nikko pen nib, windsor & newton round sable, and misc crappier brushes

lately i've been working on trying to refine my sketching and make more deliberate strokes, otherwise its easy for me to devolve into scribble chaos. so far i'm happy with the process, although it takes more brainpower than usual.

crash landing

Getting a feel of how i want the comic to look. i'm still undecided on whether to do the entire thing digitally or if i want to ink it traditionally. digital art is often more convenient but i like the variability of working with ink on paper. (this was done in CSP)
