patreon updates

later down the line ill introduce this character as another vtuber but im not actually gonna show the vtuber. i think it'll be an interesting dilemma that people want to see the vtuber the voice actor voices rather than the person behind the vtuber. i think ill name her aiko watanabe

hopefully the use of colour isnt too jarring, originally i had planned to grey scale it but i figure i already use enough digital tools to seperate myself from trying to emulate the manga styles to include colour for one joke

hoshiko apartment floorplan

the next arc is gonna be about hoshiko so i drew up a quick floorplan. i've consulted my dear friend flippers on layout reccomendations and i think we came up with something thats pretty lore friendly. the reason why i've always drawn hoshiko sleeping in the dining/kitchen room is cause it's just more convenient. I think her character right now is one who doesn't really think sleep is an important ritual.

sorry for the delay on this post and the lack of an early preview, i stayed up till 1 pm the next day to finish this comic and my brain was basically ricotta cheese when i uploaded the comic to facebook and stuff. hopefully i'll learn to not underestimate how long it takes to draw backgrounds but ill enevitably do it again

also for a couple uploads im not gonna post the seperated panels cause its actually alot of work to export each panel and i don't wanna do it if nobodys asking for it...

in case anyone is interested in using this, here is the model. it was actually alot of fun to make and i reccomend checking out the software (even though most in depth tutorials are exclusively in japanese). i think that enevitable im going to have to make another vtuber for the comic so hopefully i can get to it before my free trial of live 2d runs out

recently backgrounds have been getting more and more detailed with some recurring places so i figured i'd make a floorplan of every important location, just to stay consistant. unfortunately this means that alot of drawings i did in the past will be inaccurate to this reference

sorry for the lack of an early preview, this is the first time i've done an all-nighter for a comic (I literally finished this this morning)

originally I didn't plan to harp on the whole quarentine idea but i figured this would be a good time for some character development. I plan to give each character their own little arc, starting with both yuuki and karin. for the next 3 or 4 weeks comics will have exclusively them, then i think ill do hoshiko

it was surprisingly easy to create this look with the right brush, although getting the half tones to look like a scanned manga page was a little unorthodox, involved de-resing an actual half tone

my university got closed due to the corona virus response and my mom is really worried about me so she got tickets to send me home. i'll be taking a break from drawing comics for a week or two to deal with moving and other stuff (hopefully other projects if i have time), things should be back to normal soon enough. i hope everyone will be practicing good hygiene in the mean time

sorry i missed last week's sunday, i got pretty depressed and eventually forgot to do it

anyhow this was a project I did for grade 10 language arts class with 2 of my other friends. I was the only one who did any work but it was mostly because I never asked anyone else to do anything besides print it. as you can see we all used alias' with me being aragi yuuna. I'm pretty sure this was just a rip off of a picture book called i want my hat back though

i was planning to do an arc where yuuki gets depressed because she think she has to grow up, but i figured i'd save it for a comic with more than 4 panels. for now, i hope i've given the impression that despite these two being drastically different than when they were kids, they've still got some of that youthful energy

originally that fish market drawing was gonna be this one but i ultimately didn't finish it cause i ended up hating the composition. i tried to do one of those pseudo lineless styles but it's not really for me. im still not really sure how artists decide what and what not to put lines on so i'll just put lines on everything
