A Panel Mascot :3

All this week, I've been preparing for a panel presentation I'm giving at MFF in a month regarding comics. I knew I needed a mascot of some sorts, so I created this little guy. Cashmere Sky at Midwest Furfest 2022!

I wanted to make this announcement sooner, but I had to hold off until I had all the puzzle pieces together! There's a few parts to this!

For those in the midwest and Chicago area from December 1-4, I'll be attending my very first Midwest Furfest convention as a dealer! This con has recently overtaken Anthrocon as the largest Fur Con in the world. They've hovered around 11,000 in attendance!

The ONLY reason I would ever commit this sin in a cat universe is um.... my sister asked me to paint her dog for her birthday. His name is Lamprey, he's VERY old, and dodged euthanasia a couple weeks ago when he suddenly sprung to life again for a bit. He's a good boy, but unfortunately not long for this world. At least his life has been full of happiness! :D

The weather forecast

As more proof that I am indeed chugging away on a long scene in the comic, I wanted to challenge myself with moody weather shots using more muted colors.  When you introduce the elements, you have to think about atmosphere both literally and figuratively hehe. Here's an upcoming shot of a new area.... not Ion Valley :P.

I keep falling behind on these sketch dumps as they're a pain to organize, but I got the next one ready! I do these scene by scene. It's sometimes entertaining to see the story told only through drawings, even as a collage. At points you can almost see what might be happening.... perhaps a call about an extended car warranty? Lol jk.

Look who's back!

Not to be a major spoiler or anything, but I wanted to make a rare post of sharing a fully drawn page, long before it will be read (no dialogue of course hehe).

And Happily Ever... After?

Sometimes I punish myself with the details, but I find it necessary for visual storytelling. I sketched this up tonight for a single shot in a scene that explains information without needing to go into detail.

Ultrawides of the first pages

These haven't been released anywhere as of this moment, but I wanted to post these for patrons. I had initially designed the first 4 pages for a double-wide page shot since they would eventually go to print. I feel you can see the scope of them better this way. I was aiming for that Disney brochure look with the contrast of Arlo working as a barista on the page 5 turn hehe.

Double page shots are rare for me since they're an absolute pain, but I think these did their job!

Some Jolly Holly Sketches

As I've started the next scene, Holly takes a more center role in the story. However, if we do this... we need to pop open a bottle of wine right? There's a lot more to this scene than Holly drinking, but she's fun to draw as I keep trying to lock in her design.

New Volume 1 Covers!

They're finally done! There might be some very small touch-ups here and there, but these are near final. The goal is to convey everything the book is about.

Protagonist on the left, antagonist on the right, with the boys caught in the middle, all while showing Ion Valley, airships, and an eye catching color palette. Hopefully this will be good for marketing haha!

The back cover is also improved showing the elements of family and much of the same themes. I vastly improved the reada...
