This painting went through a lot. I redid the colors like a million times and they never looked right, I wasn’t feeling well when I drew this so I think that kind of affected the result. Half way through the colors looked so funky for some reason and didn’t quite convey the feeling I was looking for, so I decided to just turn it to black and white and then BAM super dramatic! hoho.

Ghost Town - Process GIF

This one is from last year but I still like it, maybe because the idea is a bit different from what I usually draw. I used a premade 3D model of the train and quickly modeled the bridge in Blender to imagine how it would look from that angle!

As I was editing I noticed so many long pauses where I was just sitting there staring at the screen, it’s like you could see my brain trying to small make a decisions, but I edited them out so you won’t get bored.

Big Dreams - Process 🌟

I drew this back in May when I was still obsessed with drawing buildings. The process was pretty straight forward, I blocked the big shapes first, buildings and character, then added sprinkles.. sprinkles everywhere! 

I actually hate sprinkles.

I built a whole staircase in Blender for this one! super wonky but did the job heh. After creating the 3D model I took a screenshot of it from an angle that I liked and just painted over it in photoshop :)

Here's my first timelapse video; it took me a whole year to stop being a coward and actually record my process and it was painful to see the recorded video. Fortunately, you will see the sped up version! hehe

I did this study using a reference from a Japanese website that has street photos taken by cats and from their point of view 🐱 💖 

doing virtual plein air always helped me ease into drawing environments and it's still my favorite exercise to do!
