Heartbeat Samples!

Since Nurse Egee will need to check the heartbeat of our patient, I wanted to test out audio samples with each of my microphones!

I need to turn the gain up on my mixer to 100% but I think it sounds pretty good! Once I figured out the technique, it's actually really easy to get these sounds. There's background noise but I'll edit that out for the roleplay.

Egee's Big 5k Subscriber Q&A Video

It's finally here - the big 5k Q&A video! I answered about 66 questions with surprisingly little overlap between the questions.

It was way more work to produce this than I thought... Which is great for a milestone video haha.

The raw footage came to about 2 hours and it usually takes 2x as long as the footage length to edit it. And I added timestamps to each question which means I had to listen to the final cut (almost 2 hours..) again! ahhhhh 😂

[Art] Pensive Egee

This piece was the first Egee piece made by Merlin and it's one of my most personal. It was my first big "scene" piece and it was the first time I saw Egee in a way that I personally could relate.

Something about the way he is drawn speaks to me. The way he leans and holds his hand with a glazed "it's way too late to care" expression on his face.

Last year, I worked with an artist called Confused Ewe and got this silly gif of "Dating Sim Egee".

If you couldn't tell, I love the Sims 4 (Sims games in general). I play it for Egee's world on the regular, especially since I've been using it for OpenEgee backgrounds.

The background is from the Sims 4. It's going to be a bit simpler this time with a single background and different poses. It'll follow the same episode formula as before too (with ep4 being the lewd ending).

Something I noticed while producing Werewolf Egee was how much unused trigger audio I had left over.

What do you guys think of reusing some of the cut audio for some shorter videos or audio posts here and there?

The reason why audio gets cut can range from "It's not compelling enough" to "it doesn't fit the scene". Most of the Werewolf stuffs fits into the latter category because I didn't have a good sense of "what sounds good" until ep3ish.

In part three of the Werewolf saga, Egee brings the silent protagonist to a quiet location as they wait for his pack to start howling for them.

This series has been a blast to produce. I spent a lot of time "fine tuning" the background audio. I don't have much experience building a soundscape so there's probably lots I can improve on for future videos.

Floofy Werewolf Egee wouldn't have been possible without the art! I mean sure, I could have recorded the audio with some stock footage or something but that's not the same!

The backgrounds were screenshots taken in The Sims 4. Ep1 & Ep2 were edited by me but Merlin basically did Ep3 (which is the background of the image).

Showing you my Guitar Effects Pedals

Effects pedals are delightful things of noise. The case is often made of metal with cool colors, switches, knobs, & buttons.

One thing I realized while producing this was my that effects stack is  downright lousy. I'd like to have one great sounding guitar amplifier  with a wide array of pedals. These three pedals just don't cut it.

Episode 3 closes with Egee and the silent protagonist sitting at a campfire in the dark and quiet. I'm thinking Episode 4 should be some type of lewd thing.

I was in a musical mood the other day and I had lyrics to a verse stuck in my head. One of them was "Don't let me get in my way".

I put together a basic drum track in Hydrogen and set it to 147bpm. When I build rhythm, I often scrape to the beat like I do at the start.

I played it with my standard rig which is my Sterling MAJ100 guitar run through my effects pedals and played through a Marshall MG15 and captured with a SM57.
