Maximum Max 21 & 22 WIP 2

I had different ways to go, but my plan is to make Professor Kidd to seem fairly un-serious.  I thought that would be the funniest way to go.  He'll have something funny on his shirt, but I'm not sure what exactly yet.

There's still a little more to draw before coloring.  I notice not showing Dr. Mae with the gun on this page might be a flaw, and Annie's ring isn't around her neck in the second to last panel.

Maximum Max 21-27 WIP

This isn't exactly what I originally planned, but I knew if I made Noah a student, there would need to be a teacher.  My original plan was for just the traditional old guy, but I thought this could work better.  It's kind of funny, and it helps the story seem strange without being totally unbelievable.

Also, "Professor Kidd" will end up the boyfriend of the other character who will be growing- Max's boyfriend's sister, who will be introduced in chapter 3.

While sneaking in, Charlotte and Annie are discovered by Charlotte's Mom.  Due to Annie being hurt, she asks Charlotte to carry her to where they can identify Annie's injuries.

I thought I needed to get out of the way early if Sam knew, and suggest she didn't want to be part of the experiment-- with a tease that the experiment might not be the only way she could get bigger.

I don't want Sam to grow, at least not now, to make a first benchmark for Max.  Sam is the first person she could equal or outgrow.

Pulse 518 WIP 2

Charlotte sneaks home.  I have to make the bag look more like Annie's inside, look back and see if I showed the outside of Charlotte's apartment building, and look for little details.

I think Annie might try to suggest something from in the bag, and Charlotte says that she's the one who is the expert at sneaking into her house at night.  She then arrives and you see a gun in the foreground.

I didn't make the bag Annie-shaped yet in case I worked on the page in a not totally private situation.

This page isn't super-complicated I guess, but there's still a lot to do.

Yuna comic WIP 1

Not sure where this came from.  I think someone suggested more one-page comics.  I thought I should pick a character I've drawn, but not often.  Yuna from Final Fantasy X and X-2.  You've also got two of her bodyguards- Lulu and her cousin Rikku.

I figure Lulu is saying "Protect the Summoner!", and Rikku is probably saying something silly.

My internet has been barely working the last few days, so some of this stuff is delayed.

About this page, I think I might need to alter the dialog in panel two a little unless I want a word bubble covering Max.  And that means I'll have to alter things so that Noah talks first and then Max, or it'll be difficult to get the word bubbles to make sense.

Charlotte is clearly the most optimistic of the girls.  Lucy is the pessimist, Annie tries to be the idealist.  Tabitha is usually playing mind games, and it's hard to judge her real opinion.

If Lucy was in Charlotte's role here, she would be listing all the ways this could go wrong.  If Annie, she would try to list off solutions to avoid being caught.  If Tabitha, she'd be making up a story, or explaining how this could work in a way that actually undermined confide...

It's gotten close-ish, but it still needs dialog and to finish that last panel.  I also need to alter Charlotte's top in panel three, there have to be purple lines somewhere based on the front.

To try to speed things up, I used one method which is to try to do the coloring in all of the completed panels.  Even if it means you have one unfinished panel, coloring is usually a straight line and predictable.  Drawing can be unpredictable, and you can rush things and they can ...

The first panel is probably just dialog of Charlotte and Annie trying to fit her in the bag.  Then Annie says she'll keep the zipper a little unzipped so she can breathe.

Charlotte looks at the bag while she thinks it isn't heavy for her, she thinks it looks strange, but decides she should have positive feelings and hope for the best.

• Tifa and Lulu.  I think it just needs a little cleaned up and then color.

• Raven comic.  I'm not sure if it needs dialog or not.  I considered something silly like "Asterrath Metrion Boob-thos".

My goal here was to set up how they planned to get back to Charlotte's place without anyone seeing Annie.   I suspected Annie had a backup plan if she had to look like a normal civilian on the street.  She'd also have a way to carry something if she found evidence from the super-villain (although I'd wonder if she could carry a bag that big if it was full).

I thought about giving the two sexy outfits underneath, but it seemed like it would be too likely for them to believ...

• Reworking a sketch from a few years ago with Charlotte, Tabitha and Annie.  I think Tabitha's hands, arms, and head in places need a little tweaking.

This page reveals what Annie and Charlotte were wearing under their costumes.  I suspected Annie would try to wear something that could pass as clothing someone would wear outside.  Charlotte I thought would wear something to go under a hot fur costume.

Also Annie's costume looks a little like the one she wore when she stole something from her Dad's lab (and had her natural non-super body).

Okay, clearly Annie's strength in the comic isn't that she's the best, or the strongest.  It's that she's clever and thinks things through (although sometimes too late).

I thought that considering Annie was a repair person, she might know about the methods used to search for someone, and the over-reliance on tech.  She'd consider how they'll search and try to come up with the most simple way to avoid it.
