Pulse pages 483-488 WIP

Rough pages for Pulse 483 to 488.  So the end of this chapter and the first third of the next chapter.

Page 483-

The trio on the hot springs.  I had wondered if they should be naked or not, but looked it up and naked is the tradition, so I thought that's where Tabitha would take them.

I haven't completely decided why Tabitha is banned.  I'm considering it that it's somehow related to Char from Gundam (her interest in masked men).

Pulse 482 + PSDs + WIPs

Okay, leading to a hot springs ending as requested.  The dialog isn't always what I originally intended, but I had to work with the space available (meaning I should have left more space for text).

Okay, I've run out of time to work on this today, so this'll be a early Friday page.

I wasn't sure what colors to make each Kimono.  I ended up making Annie's match her shoes, accidentally make Charlotte's almost the colors from her current costume, and for Tabitha stuck with almost the Sailor Venus colors.

So, Tabitha puts them kimonos and takes them to a hot springs.

I was at one point trying to decide if the Kimonos should flatten Tabitha and Annie's busts like with Charlotte, but I thought unless it was a joke, there was no realistic way either of the two could manage.  And even if Tabitha, certainly not Annie.

Who would you like me to draw a topless picture of?

I didn't include every possible option, but I thought I included a lot of options.

The internet was down all yesterday and last night, so here's what I've got so far.  Still not sure about that first panel (I also think it needs some proportion work, her shoulder seems too big compared to her head).

Basically Tabitha gets them all in kimonos and they end up at a hot springs (in Michigan).

I think there's a really high chance I'll forget to include the thing in Tabitha's hair in a panel or two if I'm not careful.

I thought something seemed a little off about this sketch, so I worked on it a little.

Okay, this is my thought for this page.  I might need to alter the beginning to have a better transition- like move these two panels over to the right and add a new narrow panel of something like a sign or maybe Annie's legs.

In the middle set, Charlotte has a shop she likes, and says they are bite-sized.  I thought this would be silly.

I felt like like the first part of this connects to the next chapter, where Annie is trying to defeat a super-villain secretly.  The second part of this page is to resolve something from the sleepwalkers arc.

The police officers look pretty similar to the police from the older Pulse comic.

Okay, continuing the crazy day out in the city.  Of course Tabitha has to end up fighting crime dressed as Sailor Venus.  This is to set up the next chapter where Annie tries to stop a super-villain even though she's not technically allowed to fight crime in her costume.

Okay, I think this page is done, except for the lettering.  I didn't just add color, there were a few mistakes- Annie missing her necklace in one panel, Tabitha's outfit missing parts in certain panels, and the "wham" sound effect was backwards (because I must have written it when the page was flipped).

I'll have to letter this and post it everywhere later today.

• Annie.  I drew it, and then wondered if her breasts were too high and round, so I drew the red lines for a more natural shape.  Any opinion about that welcome.
• Two of Lucy and Annie.  I thought this idea could be fun.  Not sure which is the right layout and pose, of if neither and I should try again.  Any thoughts welcome.

Okay, not what I originally expected, but this seemed like a semi-obvious direction.  I wanted this chapter to be sort of a introduction to them being superheroes and fighting super-villains.  On the next page of this Charlotte will be worried because none of them are allowed yet to be active heroes (which continues into the next story where Annie is trying to secretly stop a super-villain).  Here, Tabitha will tell them she isn't even in her normal costume, so she won't get in...

Materia Enhanced V, page 7 WIP 3

With this page, I've tried testing inking on the Android tablet.  I always feel like it ends up too thin or too thick, I haven't experimented enough to get the right sizing.

Any thoughts?  I think it's not too thin, but the thicker lines need to be thicker to look the same as my computer inked comics.
