God's Descent: Rezli (1/3)

Sooo... I took a little break from Reaper and Waiting comic because I had a little plot bunny jumping around in my head. I had to doodle this little comic out, and as my wonderful patrons I am posting this for you first!!! 

These are the first two pages; there are seven pages in total.

:D Sha Po Lang (杀破狼) is a new Chinese novel that I have been reading. It is seriously an amazing epic; even as a translation it is a philosophical masterpiece, I can't even imagine how much genius I am missing out on from the original Chinese text. It's a steampunk historical fantasy with heavy political intrigue, based on real events in Chinese history, with a beautiful love story between a young general and a prince weaving through it all. Not for the faint of heart, but here is where...

IT'S DONE...

I was actually surprised at the direction this flashback took. Originally I had the Evil Father execute them both, but... it just didn't feel right to me. THIS ending popped out instead, and I think it's much better. I may be the writer but this story surprises me too.

Now we can get back to present timeline!!

This chapter was definitely more difficult than most of the other chapters, so I will take a one-week break to plan/draw the next chapter. I will upload a...

I had to extend this chapter by three more pages... so three more pages to go! Since this is such a Big Event that I've been building up pretty much the whole story to, I had to give this chapter a little more weight.

I wanted to study water and added my OG OCs in. Good note to remember: you should colour everything with a slightly grey hue, so when you want to add some "glowy" effects, like the indigo I have shining through the waves here, it can be easily achieved by using some saturated colours. I tend to use saturated colours a lot and so making things "shine" can be a bit difficult for me.
