The Reaper and the Waiting - Prologue 1/2

Here is the first half of the very first chapter of my comic, The Reaper and the Waiting!! Early updates for patrons only!

Violet tier patrons will get page by page updates, and sakura tier patrons will get updates for every 3 pages. 

I've storyboarded the entire comic out, so it shouldn't take too long. I will post full chapters once I'm done to Webtoon, and possibly a website of my own.

Find full res pngs of the sketches below! I haven't watched Good Omens yet, but I love angels and demons lore and symbolisms, so I will get to it soon. It inspired me to do a quick wings study - I hope the break downs make sense! 

Wings generally tend to have three "sections" (denoted by the different colours), bound together by a common skeleton.

I believe this moment occurs right after the last illustration.

Currently experimenting with what sort of style and process I want to go for for this comic I am planning. Since it's a fairly short comic, I can choose a slightly more complex style. For me, the lineless painterly style is my favourite look but it is also the more time consuming one. But I think it captures the mood of the story best.

I've never had an eye for fonts and type. What do you think of what I've chosen? Ar...

 I've planned out a new comic! It's a relatively short story, but since I've planned it all out, so I can guarantee it'll be something I'll finish and post regularly about in the short term. I'm going to post each page here first so you will all get early updates. I'll be posting full chapters once I'm done with them on webtoon, and maybe a site of my own.

Raffie Portrait Practice, Process gif

Decided to do a painting study, using Raffie! You can find the final still image on my twitter or instagram. 

My process is usually to sketch out a clear version of what I want to paint, then block in a base skin tone. The most important step for me is third image in the above gif; airbrushing general areas of colours (blush, shadow, highlights). I can then eyedrop colours directly on the canvas to do the details, which allows for a unified palette of colours on the whole image. 2019-05-13 05:37:52 +0000 UTC View Post
