Pallesia: Chapter 129 - Magical Mount.

“Please…” Lee begged as he heaved in lungfuls of sweet, desperately needed air. “Think of the spells…”

“NO! I am not some steed or mount meant to carry others.” Em hissed out as she began to leave Lee behind.

Before, when Em had attempted to ride in the wagon, Lee decided to hop out and walk alongside Em as they talked shop about magic. It was unfair that she had to walk or scuttle everywhere they went, and he decided that if he was going to get in shap...

Pallesia: Chapter 128 - Spell of Evil.

I am not liable for any spells cast onto the reader in this chapter. I'm sorry ahead of time.

Lee sat in the back of their shaking wagon, nibbling on cheese and bread. After the poisoning, Regina had Jeremy and Kendri grab the wagon, and they left immediately. They were, hopefully, escaping the person who had tried to poison him.

“You know—You can have the rest ...

Pallesia: Scheduling and chapter length.

Since the beginning of my writing journey, I have posted twice a week, every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:03 AM CST. Each chapter is roughly between 1750-2300 words, usually ending up at around 1850-2100.

I was thinking about swapping to a once-a-week posting schedule but also doubling or even adding a little more (around 5k words) to the chapters.

This is a big change, and it's not like I'm dead set about actually doing this, but I wanted to see what you all thought beforehand....

Last night, Sable found her room by matching the door’s nameplate number with her key. She didn’t bother to inspect the room much as the alcohol was kicking into full gear, and the room was beginning to spin.  She promptly stumbled over and passed out on the nearby bed.

She awoke with a fright in the early dawn as a message appeared in her mind.

Pallesia: Chapter 127 - Cleansing.

As the minutes passed while Lee and Regina waited for Annalise, Lee had begun to calm down. While he felt like shit, it wasn’t anything new to him.

Before his life turned upside down from his trip to Pallesia, he had felt worse than he was currently feeling, more days than not. It turns out that having a giant tumor on your heart did that to people. While he hadn’t felt like this in months, it still felt semi-normal. His old normal. Well, as normal as he could be.

Lee wiped his forehead exaggeratedly as he slowly stood from his crouch with a smile. “Phew, you took a lot of mana for such a small body! You must be full of potential!”

The young boy, no older than five years old, nodded shyly as he repeatedly glanced over his shoulder at his mother. She gave an enco...

Pallesia: Chapter 124 - Dynamic Duo.

Lee watched with mounting horror as an enormous amount of mana swirled in a violent and frightening display before him. It coalesced, centered on the basilisk's third eye as it widened and widened. Its eyelids rolled back like a furrowed scroll as its pupil spasmed, and its iris began to give off an ethereal glow.

In his peripheral vision, Lee could see adventurers backpedal in shock and terror. Even without Mana Sense, they could tell that something was ...

My finger is infected, so I apologize for any grammatical errors or misspelled words. My sister got a new puppy, and it bit my finger playfully; I think that was the cause. It's pretty bad, but hopefully, it will be better by Saturday's chapter. I don't want to write in pain again.

Pallesia: Chapter 122 - Converging allies.

“You have two minutes before we head out! Don’t leave anything behind!” Hemsworth barked out as he stormed through their encampment.

All around him, squires were assisting their knights in equipping their armor. There were a few reasons why adventurers didn’t use platemail. One was the price. A complete set of fitted, unenchanted full-plate cost more than a house in some places. Two—and what was readily apparent here—You needed help, and it took time to don the armor. <...

Pallesia: Chapter 121 - Through the streets.

Lee, Regina, and Jeremy slowly traversed the village of Lopus, keeping their eyes peeled for potential threats. Well, Jeremy and Regina kept their eyes peeled for potential threats, and Lee swept around for those who required healing. While he knew he wasn’t a genius, it didn’t take a genius to see what the aftermath of a stomping behemoth left in its wake. Many were dead, but those who were on the brink were healed along the way by his Healer’s Beacon and ...

Lee continued to raise Walls of Earth as he kept his eyes peeled on the towering foreleg that erupted from the ground. It was truly staggering in size. If he had to compare it, it would be nearly half the size of the Giant he had seen back in the monster siege. Easily able to crush him underfoot without a second thought.

Another deep warhorn-like call rumbled outwards from the creature as it attempted to rise to the surface. It wasn’t a howl, hiss, or any oth...

Pallesia: Chapter 119 - The call.

After hours of answering questions and calming down the adventurers in attendance, Lee was free from his duties. Frankly, he was surprised by the questions asked about healing. While he knew the residents of this world knew little about human biology, they did seem to have a very rudimentary grasp of anatomy.

Like the Dark Elves, they knew most things from repetition, failure, and what was now known as common sense. They knew they couldn’t breathe water—That was quickly figured out ...

Lee gave a bright smile from behind his hood as he stood behind a podium in the main foyer of the village hall. He smiled at everyone who was attending his third session of teaching healing magic. Well, If you counted his lecture, which was cut short in Neldam, this would technically be his third, and he leaned more toward counting that as his first.

Before him, inside the foyer, sat well over fifty mages who had spent the last week and a half learning life mana. Lee had watched some of...

For the next two hours, Lee tried his best to rid himself of his new problem—a problem much higher level, deadly, and immune to emotional pleas. A problem that was making Lee regret wasting his prior time alone.

“Regina, in the five minuites I’ll be away, I’m not going to be assassinated—For gods sake.” Lee held his head in his hands as he stood on the nearby forest's bounty.

Regina stood by his side, scanning the forest for danger. Her hands were clasped politely arou...

Pallesia: Spell Poll.

As a thanks for supporting me on my writing journey, I wanted to have you all give suggestions for Lee's next Arcane Synthesis. Combining spells is something new, and I figured the first one could be done as a community!

The original spell combination I had planned wasn't going to get much use until later on down the line, so this is the perfect time for a community spell.

Please comment your wanted spell combination and whichever one gets the most ...

Pallesia: Chapter 116 - Letdown.

The next morning, Lee awoke to a near-empty camp. Regina had been insistent about starting her preparations in the village, so she at least had a reason not to be around.

Jeremy and Kendri didn’t get along. That wasn’t a surprise, but usually, that meant that one was at camp while the other went to do… whatever they did. Now that he thought about it, he wasn’t actually sure what they were usually up to during their free time.

Em usually followed him around. Initially, Lee ...

Lee let the healing life mana swirling in his veins simmer down and petter out as he inspected the encapsulating air mana dome surrounding himself and Regina.

Regina, for her part, stood calmly with hands clasped together, waiting for his response. Her emotionless face was unmoving as she watched Lee calm himself.

Standing along the side of the empty, cleared road that wound through Lopus, Lee watched a horde of adventurers travel toward where the multitudes of camps and tents were set up. Already, those who had first arrived started clearing away the nearby trees to make space, chopping the wood into suitable-sized firewood to use later.

Lee tried his best not to stand out as he watched party after party pass him by on wagons or foot. His titles were turned off again, as the knights Meriah had m...

In the village hall, Lee stood at a podium surrounded by all the adventurer mages he had found in the past two weeks. By now, all of them had acquired the life affinity and were ready to learn from his spellbook.

Lee was going to be exceedingly busy in the following two weeks. He would have to juggle his time between enchanting, teaching, spellcraft, and healing as he got his plan underway. There would be an extremely tough and busy few months ahead for him, but the longer he waited, the harder it would be.

First, if he wanted to spread his healing throughout Thexis, he needed to have enough healers around so that the Healer’s Sanctum lost its hold on its monopoly. They would act; he knew they...
