Vicetober - 23

I know the month is not over yet, but I my schedule is full I am not sure if I can do another or maybe just pick up the interesting concepts from the list and do them next month. 

I will try and create some designs out of those artworks, so stay tuned. 

Shore of Bones 2 -

Been a while, this month I got really busy with commissions and couldn't even go through the Vicetober for this year, I only managed to finish 3 artworks. 

But this month I and two friends started an art meetup group, called DIG Dubai on IG
and it is really refreshing to step away from the pc and internet for coupe of hours and just draw random ideas.

Sketches for Inktober / Vicetober

This year I am going to cheat a bit and sketch the inktober stuff early and then just focus on inking next month. 

I feel like my inking got better and I want to be more experimental with some of those pieces and see how it is going to look. 

As usual those ink drawings will turn to stickers and merch so I am keeping that in mind while designing each sketch.

It has been a while since the last update, I have been busy working on a new project. this time I am officially doing inking for a comic book, this is a first for me so I am kinda learning and testing stuff as I go. 

The project is under NDA but I hope to be able to share some stuff soon. 

Meanwhile I will keep working on some of the personal projects I started this year to try and finish them before Comicon.

Short comic in the work

Yep, I am working on a 6 pages comic for a collaborative book that is featuring around 50 artists from the region. 

I will have another post with more details regarding the published book and if they have it available online. 

I am enjoying the process so far, I got some awesome comments from my teacher Tim Mcburnie, I enrolled in his Drawing for Comics class years ago, so I am happy with the results so far.

Finally got to inking this character. I have lost the sketch file or it is sitting somewhere in the work hard disk. I am usually organized with naming the files but I don't remember under which folder I would have placed this one.

Shibari Knights Sketches

Sharing the high rez sketches I did last stream. I will be inking these and maybe come up with more complicated poses. the goal is to make another poster for this series

My collaboration with Miantan Zhou

I am aiming to create more grunge looking art, I like the astatic of it.
This is the high rez file. 

I will have this available as print over at AS probably for a limited time, along side some merch. 

The character received a lot of praise on IG which makes me want to explore the concept further.

Merch Update

Here is the sample update, the colors are a bit off according to the manufacturer and I will get another print in a couple of days.
That aside, I am happy with the printing quality. I have to wait now until they send me the sample and see it firsthand.

Anime Merch

Here is my second attempt at drawing characters wearing the new merch. It was mostly a style test but I am excited to do more characters in this style.

Design Exploratoin

After finishing the stream I went back and did some more adjustment to the design and then worked on the poster design. 

I am a believer now that adding graphic design to the artworks pushes them to the next level. I have always tried to run away from graphic design but now it seems that it is the way. 

I am still learning but I am hopeful.

Merch Update

Finally got some photos of the print test for the Nox 2 design, DTG on acid washed oversized T. I will have to wait until tomorrow to get my hands on the product and check the quality of the prints and fabric.

After the coloring stream I went back and did a lot of polish on this artwork. I have to admit that a lot goes into polish to make things look crisp and clean. 

The posters will be available at the Artstation shop, and later on will have the stickers and apparel added to the store next month.

Miss Vampz - WIP

Notti WIP

Sharing the progress I have so far on this drawing. 

Decided to change the position of the head to something more interesting. I was following a ref but sometimes you have you mix things together to get something better. 

Inking and coloring next, and probably merch design for  June

New Ink Art

Testing out this style of inking, it can work on a black background as well. The challenge now is to keep the style consistent between different drawings. 

The plan is to print this using Screen printing, lets see how it goes. 

Merch Update, The Exploration Continues!

It has bee a while since the last post, but here are some updates on the tests I ordered and how thing are going so far. 

So the DTG test I order from the US came out pretty good, the only issue is the colors look a bit light and the overall print look as if it washed a lot.

The tests I ordered from China (King Apparel) two tests one DTG and DTF to see the different in colors. the shirts and prints looked good but they ended up printing the preview file instead of the origina...

Apparel Season 2 is Live

It is finally live, with an updated website.
It did take longer than expected due to the back and forth in picking up the blanks and deciding on which design to print and how to go about it. 

Doing screen printing might be the end goal, but for now the second season is Digitally printed. the quality is good and the blanks are the same from the first drop, good quality.

Apparel Update

So here is another update on the next apparel drop.
The Casual Witch T-shirt sample is on the way, I have order two samples from two different manufacturers to see the difference in quality and hopefully get the bulk production going in the next couple of months. 

Oh and the photoshoot for the current designs happened yesterday and I will share the results as soon as I get the edited set.

Merch update - Thoughts and Plans

So here is a quick update on where I am with the next merch drop. 

I think I am mostly done with designing the products. I have ordered some samples and got a friend to test some and decided to go with the same shirts and long sleeves I picked last time. 

The only thing I am waiting to confirm is the hoodie as there are couple of options and one of them allows for a bigger print size, so will know the answer tomorrow.

Designing T-shirts

Here is an update on the design journey so far.
I have been avoiding graphic design for a really long time, but seems like there is no other way around it (maybe other than commissioning a designer) I started doing more research and getting my self more familiar with the trends now. 

I have ordered some samples of the shirts and hoodies to see the quality. If all is looking good, then the next step is doing photoshoot for the products and get those on the site.

Anime Test - What I Have So Far

Alright, so I am sharing the high rez files for the concepts and rendering test for the Odin character. 

This will be part of the Anime Rendering tutorial to be published in couple of months (depending on how fast I can finish rendering the full character) 

I switched to ASUS ProArt monitor and it is a night and day compared to what I was using before. no wonder I was going blind with that LG small monitor I had.

The White Witch: Spear

I included both the final version of the illustration in high rez and the printable file. the printable file is cropped to fit an international paper size. 

This was a challenging project, but now I think the only way forward is to sit and do a lot of writing. Lets see if I can get the first story draft ready in 2 months.
