I wanted to test this concept with AI voiceover, explaining different aspects of the artwork as if your watching a documentary about the character.
This is not final, I will have to make another cut and maybe change the text a bit.

So I created those for "inktober" although I didn't do any inking, but still I think it was a fun exercise. Now I am not sure what to do with those characters, maybe I can pick some of them and ink them and try to create some design with that.

I used to do those random sketches years ago on stream, and I got so many ideas generated through those sessions. I can feel that I am worming up slowly and my shapes are getting better slowly.
I will be doing more and later pick the successful designs and maybe do inks and turn them to stickers.
Painted this on one layer but kept copies for progress and to check errors as I progress. I later photobashed the hair to add the extra details.

While we wait for the release of the next Cornish book I thought I can share the ink and color for page 2. I did work on this on stream but didn't finish coloring it and adding the final touches then.
I admit I enjoy coloring more than inking as I can feel that am bringing life to the pages.

Still without a key, but I think its on its way, so I have to wait a bit more to try the game.
I have done the sketch for this one and painted on one layer, but the Photoshop file you can see all the steps due to the duplicates I created.

Aster is finally getting her own DTIYS challenge. I created this character almost a year ago and since then she got multiple art pieces and merch. but now I am teaming up with a writer and things are looking good as I am finishing the 6 pages manga and hopefully get it picked up by a publisher.

Testing out a more simplified style, keeping ink to the minimum, shading with solid areas and keeping colors to solid colors with some gradian. Adding patterns at the end to add some details and depth.
You can check the psd and see all the layers I used for the coloring, not many though.
Now for the poster there are couple of things that I used like adding noise and halftone filter along with some tiltshift to give that screen effect. although its very small but it kinda have that eff...

These are the sketches I did during the art meetup yesterday. maybe a good base for a new illustration.
On another hand, I have signed with a writer and we are working together on the White Witch comic, for now we are flushing the universe and systems and later work on the characters. things are shaping out nicely and I can't wait to be able to share some insights once we reach something concrete :D

The idea was to finish this in a day or two but I had to travel to Turkey to attend a wedding, Now that am back I went back and put couple of hours to finish this one and pick another character to paint.

I have been busy at work doing inking and penciling for a comic book for SandStorm Comics, 104 pages in total, and the job is finally done. What is left is doing some changes and fix some panels here and there, but the bulk of the work is done so I get a bit of freedom to go back to some personal work.
The character is for the Shore of Bones IP and I will be adding two more characters, and render them later.

A quick update on the T-shirts, the photoshoot is done and I am waiting for the edited photos. But I still have to make the bulk order after doing some small changes to the designs. sometimes you don't see the smaller details until you get them printed.
Hopefully by next update I will have a release date set.

Finally I managed to finish this artwork after almost two years of delay. I think what took me so much time to get back to it and to set the time to finalize it is the idea of perfectionism, whenever I look back at the progress I see the amount of work that is needed to be done and that would just push me away from committing.
There is also the concept that your new artwork should be better than the one before it, and that creates such a pressur...

The artwork is almost done, but the design is far from done yet. I want to fix the slice on top and try to find a way to make it more organic either by adding design elements or changing the top a bit.
Should I do front or back print? I realize that back print is more standard for a bigger print and would look better in all cases.

Working on a new idea that I have been sketching as of late during comicon and on stream.
I am not so happy with the design yet, so I will be doing more explorations.
Sharing the inking so far for the new merch design. after adding the flat colors I realized that I forgot to ink the tattoo she has on the shoulders so I have to work on that next.
I kinda like the painterly look on the mockup so I will try to match it a bit, as I know it will look good when printed.

I wanted to test this idea so I jumped yesterday and started painting.
I really like how the end result shaped up and I like that I managed to finish this in just couple of ours. less planning and more painting I guess.
The PSD file has the photos I used in the photobashing and all the layers to create the background. but it is mostly direct painting to create that feel of the game.

This is the artwork so far.
The plan is to finish the artwork before the end of the year, but the smart thing is to post it next year so it start getting likes with the beginning of the new year.
So what is left is to finish the character in the center and the guy behind him. then fix the blue cape and where it is attached. Adding the ornaments on the armor. and finally adding final touches and call it done.

Sharing the update on this art piece.
What remains is to actually sit and do hours of rendering, but the overall look is established so I am excited about this one.
This is the high rez art for the Shore of Bones Surfer. I will be creating a tutorial for coming up for a design and creating a merch out of of it. But I have to record some extra things and maybe go over the process of creating a shop, although that might be a bigger topic and mostly covered intensively on YT.
