What's the big story? Kherson is Ukraine, with 3,000 square kilometers liberated in 24 hours.
The second story? The rest of the axes appear to be bogging down into frozen fronts.
The Malcontent News Russia Ukraine War Podcast for yesterday is available at:
There still remains pockets of Russian troops that were abandoned or are attempting to blend in with the civilian population. However, on November 11, 2022, at 15:45 PST Ukrainian forces have put boots on the ground in every settlement west of the Dnipro.
Since August 30, Russia has lost 17,000 square kilometers of captured territory. That is roughly the same size as Kuwait.
Something left out of the headlines, all of Mykolaiv except the Kinburn Spit was also liberated as apart of...

Ukrainian forces have entered the administrative center of Kherson as well as Beryslav. It is likely there are only pockets of Russian troops remaining in the region north of Nova Kakhovka and still working their way across the dam. There are reports of Russian troops still in Kherson but wearing civilian clothes and trying to blend in.
The Ukrainian "advance," if you want to call it that, has been slowed by the throngs of citizens greeting their liberators.
The reports of major c...

What's the big story? The Kherson retreat continues with Russian forces applying scorched earth behind them. There is a lot of fog of war, and based on pictures, actual fog which is benefiting the Russian withdrawal.
The second story? Honestly, not much. The DNR did not release an update and nor did War Gonzo while The Russian Ministry of Defense continued to write fan fiction. It has been a somewhat quiet week.
We should...

Citing the destruction of their lines of communication and inability to supply up to 30K troops, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced they have ordered their forces to withdraw from Kherson.
Our team has assessed since April that Ukraine would never attack Kherson head on due to the challenging terrain and in August assessed the Ukrainian tactic would be to starve Russia troops out.

I will be traveling today through Wednesday of next week. SITREPs will continue but they may be condensed on some days to battlefield activity and analysis during this time.
Podcasts will continue but could also be condensed. This was a semi-planned tripped that has been delayed four times to visit family. I've get the window of notification short because I am dealing with a stalker and wanted to maintain a degree of personal operational security.

That picture?
That's my office.
We are having a Pacific Northwest windstorm and due to our unseasonably warm October, still a lot of leaves on the trees.
We heard two transformers blow, likely out for hours. No Internet, can't get to the server with the intel from team.
It's a good day for it to happen. It was very quiet.
Super sized report tomorrow and no podcast.

People smarter than us (although I think our team is pretty sharp) are agreeing that Russia is setting conditions for a full withdrawal west of the Dnipro.
In Snihurivka, Russian troops started blowing up bridges, which is something troops don't do if they are planning to continue to advance.
There are pictures and resident reports that Russian troops have withdrawn and abandoned checkpoints in Chornobaivka, Stepanivka, Pryozerne, and Bilozerka.

The battlefield in Ukraine is lost in a time warp to another era.
From the Kharkiv-Luhansk administrative border to Bilohorivka in Donetsk (that's a big area), it is like a World War II battlefront. Artillery, positional fighting, and attempts to move the line.
East of Soldar-Bakhmut to Mayorsk, it is World War I trench warfare. Mud, barren landscape, cratered fields, snipers, artillery, and penal units of PMC Wagner doing charges into the defensive lines Ukraine reestablished. It...

What's the big story? Diplomatically, Russia has had a terrible, awful, horrible 24 hours. Most people know I caught COVID in early June. I didn't have it "bad," was sick for about a week, about two days were just pure awful. I would equate to catching the flu, norovirus (my stomach was torn up), and mono at the same time. Not pleasant.
Many know I've been struggling with long COVID, but no where near as other people. The three issues I've been working through in order - constant exhaustion, cognition, and migraines.
I had one or two migraines in my life before COVID an...

This is what we know.
Videos have been released by Ukrainian officials of at least one of the unmanned remotely operated vessels striking an Admiral Grigorovich class frigate of the Black Sea Fleet. We cannot verify if it was Admiral Essen or Admiral Makarov. The Makarov is the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet and replaced the Moskva after it was sunk by Neptune antiship missiles in April.
A second USV strikes another ship, and a third narrowly missiles a small patrol boat, with a ...

I think many people believe that to make a TikTok video, you hold your phone up to your face for 2-1/2 minutes, click a few options, and you're done. Magic! The reality is the TikTok videos that provided the daily war summaries took over an hour. The foundation of the Situation Reports was the scripts for the TikTok videos. The war had only been going on for a few days when I realized that there was more value to the audience than the video itself. That turned into a podcast plus TikTok video...

Before anyone wails about false equivalency and why we would share this information, once again, Russian state media made a pu...
