Hey friends. this is a messy script. partly because this video was made over the course of four months. it unfolded in real time. usually I get to drill into some research and write the whole video before I start to produce it. But for this one the story made itself and I just captured it. So you'll see a messy script with some general direction on how the video should go. I find that writing in direction helps me envision the video before actually editing it. I used to not be able to do this...

Here's the final shot of M101. It took me months to figure out how to get this image. For those who are really good at astrophotography they will see all sorts of issues with this shot. I'm just happy to got it despite its little flaws. Thank you all for watching the video!

Here's what my Premiere timeline looks like right before I render a video. kind of overwhelming. I get a little obsessive with detail when it gets near the end. sometimes I think it doesn't make a difference. but I always am encouraged by all the comments from people appreciating all the extra effort.
This video is going up in the next hour or so!

Hey friends. Tomorrow a video is coming out that is many months in the making. It documents my quest to photograph a galaxy. I've never done astronomy so this was an incredibly difficult goal.
The video will be live tomorrow morning EST.

Hey Friends! Today the Mexico video publishes and I thought I'd share with you a high res image of one of the most interesting maps from the video. This map captures a moment in US history when there was a major land dispute between the US and Mexico. It's a reminder that the shape of the US is the recent product of imperial expansion.
I hope everyone is doing well. and as always thanks for your continued support!

This is a map of Oahu that I extruded with elevation data. it also has lighting to give is subtle shadow. I then places it on a high res scan of an old desk.
