Chapter 8 work continues!!! >:D Here's our guy!

The final image in the sequence is Ananth's original thumbnail for me. We don't have a stand-in model of the gladiator's helmet but I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of how that one looks in a 3D space since it's more or less a cylinder with bull horns.

BBR Ch8 sneak peek

I'm deep in inking chapter 8! This one has been really fun, since Ananth wound up thumbnailing the majority of the chapter in CSP with 3D models. It's been really exciting working like this, he has a good visual eye for body language and visual flow.

Chapter 8: Percy paper doll!

Just as a general update, chapter 8 is written, thumbnailed, and partially pencilled! :D

As always, Ananth will give me a mess of fashion touchstones with the chapter script and I'll make a mess of paper dolls of the characters for how they'll look in the chapter.

Lucky Penny (color edition) cover progress

Now that the book is out, I wanted to share the cover progress for the Lucky Penny Color edition!

The first batch of thumbnails is what we sent to the publisher to see what direction they might want to push the cover in. The original (book-market) version of the book had a lot of right angles and I thought it might be nice to do something similar but with diagonals, to give it a bit of chaos and dynamism.

OH I'd forgotten we never shared my original design sketch for Ruby! I wanted to keep her first appearance a secret until she was revealed in the comic. This was the reference drawing I had for Ruby and Cecilia's Chapter 7 appearances, plus the reference I put together for their outfits.

A while back I redesigned an old old old character of mine and I wanted to try my hand at drawing him more nicely. I tend to do really tight pencils and wanted to see how it would go having really loose pencils and just make stuff up as it goes. I'm happy with the result!

After playing Elden Ring I was hoping to either start an Elden Ring NG+ *OR* go play Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Ananth since he's played.

Unfortunately after attempting the OoT ocarina music controls on Switch I realized the game was slightly unplayable with the joycons (and also all switch-compatible N64 controllers have been sold out for like, the last year.) I promised I'd do this so here it is!!! The thumbnails for page 7, where I had to learn how to manipulate characters inside 3D sets, couldn't do it and wound up kludging it very badly. IT WORKED OUT FINE IN THE END, JUST DON'T ROTATE ANYTHING
