Plans for May 4-9

The Tower Story is starting to get to some exciting parts! I'm having a blast writing it, and I'm excited to keep going on it next week.

As a heads-up, next week I will be reaching Chapter 15, which is the final chapter for my $2 Patrons; the rest will be gradually released as soon as I finish the story, but Chapter 15 will be the final one for them until then. It'll probably be another week after that before I hit Chapter 30, which is the final chapter for my $5 Patrons, but it's qui...

Tower Story -- Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Leaning up against the pure-white marble column next to him, Bax stared at the closed, gold-plated, and beautifully carved doors in front of him.  The cold marble floors under his feet and pressing against his upper shoulder didn’t affect him at all, thankfully, though he could still feel it; the same went for the ambient temperature in the vast, stark hallway that he’d just traversed to get to this point.  He was thankful that extreme temperature changes didn...

Tower Story -- Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Another shot of relief passed through Bax as the doors to the Keepers’ Tower allowed him access, and he pushed them open to find a relatively large room made of the same stone as the rest of the Co-op, which he thought was large enough to hold a thousand or so people comfortably – even the larger Orcs or Saroon.  Other than its size, however, there wasn’t much to see, as the walls were almost entirely blank with no obvious way forward.

Thankfully, all of...

Tower Story -- Chapter 8

Chapter 8

With his hand covering his nose and mouth to block out the lingering odor, Bax stared at the scene in the auditorium and even with his increased Intellect, he was unable to figure out what he was looking at.  Or, more precisely, what he wasn’t looking at.

All of the bodies of the Keeper recruits and Guides that had recently been lying inside the large room were gone. The smell remained, unfortunately, though it was much reduced from how hor...

Tower Story -- Chapter 7

(This chapter took a while with notifications, calculations, and stats -- oh, my!)

Chapter 7

The transition from unconsciousness to full wakefulness was nearly instant as Bax abruptly sat up from the hard floor and looked around, confused for a second at why he wasn’t in his bed.  Unfortunately, his memories were triggered by the stench of the dead that seemed to linger in his very skin, as well as by the flat piece of black material that he reached out and ...

Tower Story -- Chapter 6

Chapter 6

While Bax hadn’t been at the Keeper Recruit Cooperative for long, he couldn’t remember a time when it had been quiet.  Even when he was in a class, there had always been the rustling sounds of people shifting around in their seats in between the Guides lecturing, and while walking to another classroom the low murmur of thousands of people moving through the hallway had always been present.  Even when he was in his room, there had been a persistent hum that he hea...

Tower Story -- Chapter 5

Chapter 5

The next 6 hours were a test of Bax’s resolve, as he felt worse and worse as the classes he attended seemed to drag on and on.  Most of what he learned went over his head because his mind was focused on keeping himself from coughing and eventually sneezing at one point or another, though there were a few things that stuck with him.

In The Keeper’s Tower class, he learned more about what he would be facing inside of its 50 Floors: monsters, puzzles, and traps.&nb...

Tower Story -- Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Throwing himself down on his bed, Bax stared up at the ceiling as he completely zoned out. He didn’t want to think about anything at the moment, especially as his stomach was extremely full and uncomfortable.  Stuffing his face at the Meal Hall wasn’t his original plan, especially as he had been as equally impressed by its enormous size as he had by the auditorium earlier.  The massive space was large enough to handle tens of thousands of people all sitting aroun...

Tower Story -- Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Guide Azilla didn’t appear to want to speak too much as they quickly made their way through the congregating groups of Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, and all of the other races that all seemed to get along together without any tension between them – or at least that was how it seemed to Bax.  He was actually fine with his Guide not wanting to share too much with him, anyway, as he had plenty to think about without adding to it all.  In fact, he was still processing ever...

Plans for April 27-May 2

Well, the new story teased with my last update is finally underway! I know there isn't a lot yet (2 chapters) and it probably seems like a run-of-the-mill post-apocalyptic story, but there are some fun twists coming up! I'm hoping to have it done in about 4-5 weeks, and then I can start on Healer book 6 for those of you who are waiting for it :)

In other news, the release of Divine Fusionist has gone quite well, and I finished the last of the promotions I was planning on doing for it....

Tower Story -- Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Walking out the open doorway, a blast of sound hit Bax as he passed the threshold, as if there was something keeping the sound out of the room.  Momentarily stunned, he stopped moving as he tried to take in what his ears and eyes were experiencing.

The loud hum of voices nearly overwhelmed him as he looked around, seeing that he had emerged into an enormous square, stone hallway, which he estimated was nearly 500 feet wide and tall, with a plush carpet running its e...

Tower Story -- Chapter 1

I finally got the planning done for my new series, or at least the majority of book 1. I estimate that this book will be around 120k words, which shouldn't take me more than 4-5 weeks to write, and then I'll be getting back to Healer book 6!

Chapter 1

“Hit 12 for me, would you?” Bax asked from he squished himself inside the front of the elevator, the people in it so packed that he was worried for a second that they had exceeded its maximum weight limit.  ...

Plans for April 20-25

I'm so relieved that I was able to get Divine Fusionist done in plenty of time for the release, and it is all set and ready to go! It has been an amazing story to write, and I hope everyone who reads it has enjoyed it as much as I did.

While I have the actual release on eBook next Wednesday, which means I'll be promoting it a bit next week, there are a few other things going on next week as well. On Monday, I'll be taking down the chapters for Divine Fusionist to comply with Kindle Un...

Here are my plans for next week:

It's getting there! My goal is to be done by the 16th so that I can finalize Divine Fusionist for release, and I'm excited to finish off the rest of the story.

In other news, I'll be approving Unrestrained Healer on audiobook today, so it hopefully will release early next week.

That pretty much sums up my plans for next week -- writing and promoting Unrestrained Healer on audiobook :)

Plans for March 30-April 4

Phew! Those were a lot of stat and notification chapters I got done this week for Divine Fusionist. I was hoping to get a few more chapters done, but all of the calculations and stats took me longer than I expected. Fortunately, from approximately this point in the story toward the end, there will be very few additional notifications and stat chapters, so it should flow much faster.

As a heads-up, Unrestricted Healer has finished recording for the audiobook, so all that's left is edi...

Plans for March 23-28

Ugh. Being sick sucks; the latter part of this week was rough for me, as I got a head cold that stuffed my head up too much. I'm hoping to use this weekend to recover, and then I'll be hitting Divine Fusionist hard next week -- my goal is to get 12 chapters done and posted.

I also want to thank everyone who picked up Unrestricted Healer on eBook! Despite my head feeling like it was going to explode from sinus pressure, the release went really well, pushing its ranking up to #54 in th...

Slight delay in more chapters

Just a heads-up -- there will be a slight delay in more chapters (hopefully more tomorrow) as I got sick over the last few days and it is hard to think of writing anything. It's a little better today than it was yesterday, so I'm hopeful I'll get another chapter out tomorrow.

Plans for March 16-21

I just got done with my vacation, and I'm eager to get back to work! On Sunday, I have a little editing and uploading to RR to do, and finish up a couple of things that are backed up after being gone, and then I'll be writing.

Unrestrained Healer comes out on Wednesday, March 19th! I'll be doing promotion that day and the next few, so my writing will be affected a little, but I'm still hoping to get 8 chapters done next week. In addition, the chapters for Unrestrained Healer will be co...

Plans for March 9-14

Divine Fusionist is coming along, though I've been distracted over the last week or so, and I haven't been able to output as many chapters as I've wanted to. Why? Because I'm entirely too excited to be taking a long-needed vacation for a week, which I halfway started today (so no chapter, sorry), and I'll be off all next week as well. I'll be back to work on Sunday, March 16th, where I'll be grinding to get the book done in the next 4 weeks for its April 23rd release.

Plans for March 2-7

I had a couple of personal things come up this week, so I wasn't able to get too much written, but Divine Fusionist is still progressing!

Next week, I'm hoping to have even more done! This weekend, I have to do more editing and scheduling of chapters on Royal Road, but I'll be writing on Monday through Friday.

Plans for Feb 23-28

It has begun! I only got 5 chapters of Divine Fusionist done this week, but at least it has started. With the 7th Fusionist book coming out on audiobook, that consumed a bit of my time with the promotion, but I'm pretty much done with the marketing now.

On Sunday, I need to do some editing of the first few chapters and start scheduling them on Royal Road, and I got all the beta-reader feedback I needed for Unrestrained Healer, so I'll be fixing a few things on the manuscript as well...

I finished up the rest of the edits and revisions for Unrestrained Healer, which is also on pre-order for a March 19th release, and have sent it out to beta-readers for additional feedback. I've also gotten started on Divine Fusionist, though I've only progressed through the planning phase, so I don't have any chapters done yet -- but I'll have some next week. It'll be my main focus through early April, where I plan to have it done in plenty of time for the April 23rd release date.
