I think what makes storytelling great is when characters develop and grow together. Scene 6 in A Fox's Mission is a good example. Christine and Iris were not exactly what I'd call friends for a long time, but by being in each other's presence and learning to accept each other's faults, they bonded. Now you can see how Iris comforts Christine while she's feeling depressed.

This is the mockup for the paperback cover of WIEDERGEBURT: Legend of the Reincarnated Warrior volume 1. As you can see, I added a lovely "Parental Advisory" label and gave it the R18 rating in the back... you know, to let people know this isn't for kids.
I took some inspiration from the Goblin Slayer paperbacks, which have a similar theme for the back cover.

The closer we came to the palace, the more I realized that, yes, this really was a palace—a majestic structure unlike anything I’d ever seen in my entire life. The beast that Erica had procured for us was called a Qilin, a hooved chimerical creature. It possessed slightly dragon-like features, most notably its head, thick eyelashes, the mane which always flowed upward, and the beard. The features were of the orient variety. Its body was covered in scales and shaped like a deer with cloven hooves and antlers jutting from its head. His Qilin’s scales happened to be a bright golden color, but the ones he was flying alongside were many colors.

I kept Spiritual Perception activated as we moved slowly through the sewers, keeping a careful eye out for any potential ambushes. It seemed someone, Skygge I assumed, had those shadows waiting at various ambush points in case someone realized what they were doing and came to stop them.
