SO!!!! On a whim I signed up for Art Fight

And so far it's been going really well! I still feel embarrassment-guilt at handing out less than perfect artwork (which like, I always feel, but to varying degrees) but since nobody paid for it I have more freedom to experiment. I have been taking in a lot of information via New Masters Academy and now I get to see how much of it has stuck. So far it looks like..... not as much as I would have hoped so maybe I'll go back and watch the videos again.

Photoshoot from today

Went out to the lake to see what kind of critters were about. The waterlilies are up and blooming so I took a lot of pictures of those. We spotted a mummy woodduck and her babies and waxwings and all kinds of things! A feral muscovy duck. It was a very good bird haul. Also saw a red-breasted sapsucker but they flew away before I could photo.

Hello everyone!

I've gotten accounts at some online art classes to boost my knowledge and ability. I will share 'assignments' but for the most part I will be learning. 

So to make up for my radio silence I'll be sharing a free texture every day with the community at large. These files will be enormous and can be used for any project you like. My only request is that you not resell them as is.

I built a new computer for myself!

Technically my roommate did. He's more knowledgeable about that kind of thing. 

 I had the old desktop for like 10 years and it was getting fishy: crashing photoshop, dead USBs, getting slow, etc. Time for a change.  

I've been getting it together over the past couple of days and have finally made the transition entirely to the new system. Feels good! Things are faster and less bloated. I had to move from Windows 7 to 10 which is kind of EEUUUURRRGH but ah well...&...

Building a Towel Rack

I’ve been kind of waffling on some art but I’m up to other things. Making a towel rack for the kitchen so they have a place to be. the glue is drying just now. I’ll then put wood putty in the cracks, sand, stain, lacquer, and then it’s done!!
