Febuary is going to be a free month!

Winter is always a very slow period for me and lately I've taken this really wonderful break. It's a Vacation from my Problems. And lemme tell you, it's done absolutely amazing things for my mood. I have felt so amazingly better in this past 5 or so days than I can remember. I went to the store the other day and was just delighted in my soul about everything I saw: seagulls, people, Mt. Ranier. I haven't felt that way in a very long time.

Male Kassidey for Defenbaugh

This one took me longer than usual because of sketch pages and holidays but I'm pleased with this painting as I'm applying new knowledge from composition studies. The commissioner may ask for some small revisions but this is otherwise 99% finished.

Slowed down on them a little bit. I've been getting outside to wildlife areas to photo all the weird ducks that have been showing up. I also went to a bonsai museum that was super cool.

Mat Cutting tutorial #1

O man, for the past few days I've been laying around on my floor with a headache and feeling extremely cold. I haven't gotten a lot done. But I'm starting this and chopping it up into small pieces so it's not overwhelming. 

These are the mat cutters I've had experience with. If you have any questions go ahead and ask. I'll move on to how to cut the mats next. Then how to attach the art.

Uuuh Uuurgh I feel like barf today but I managed to finish some sketch pages and another dragon. I might lie on the floor, though.

Three Speedpaints for Talin (And One Sketch)

Been working on these the last few days. They're just a single layer of color; nothing fancy. 

I am SO CLOSE to having everything done for MFF. I'm going to make some art for the charity auction and pack it all up, do paperwork, and then I'm done. And I'm not going so I won't be RIDONK busy all weekend and afterward with commissions (THANK GAWD!)

Went into Seattle today

The chief reason was the gem and jewelry show. There were not as many loose gems as I might have hoped but i Did get this lovely and unusual piece of labradorite. My group then went to the Frye Museum where I saw a hilarious painting and some great kid animations. All in all a very good trip. I hope to incorporate the labradorite into some kind of art.

I made a couple of sketchbooks for the MFF art show and I needed some sexy first pages to put in them. 

Perched Dragon

I spent most of yesterday going through thousands and thousands of photos I've taken in the past, picking out the best ones for reference. There are more than I realized from a great many trips I've taken. I haven't even gotten to my first Germany trip yet and I've been on three now! I'm not suuuuure exactly where all of them are (and I may have lost some) but I have a great many good ones for paintings. 

Anywho, this is all I got done artwise.
