Furpocalypse GOH art

I'm one of the guests of honor for Furpocalypse 2017 and as such I have work I need to do for their websites, flyers, conbook, etc.

The New Blood

Last summer my ridiculously old rabbit, Gimli, passed on. He was a rescue from neglect; I never intended to have a rabbit as a pet and didn't think I'd get another one, but I recently realized I miss having a rabbit around. So I went to a local rabbit rescue to see who they had. I kind of wanted to get a giant rabbit next, and some baby Flemmies piqued my interest, but they had all been adopted and I went with this little Dutch guy.

Moss Dragon

Quick snap of one of my latest paintings. 

I've been using this plastic stuff, Polywall, that I found at Home Depot. It's great because my paint stays wetter on it for longer, the acrylic bonds to the plastic, it doesn't warp, it's strong, and cheap. It might become my ground of choice.

Gambler WIP

A cropped version of something I started a while ago and will finish... eventually :D  

I love working in pencil and color pencil but it just takes so LONG. The initial colors have been laid out in prismacolor, blended with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip, but I think I'm going to finish with acrylic. 

Firebringer WIP

A small painting where I'm playing around with lighting. This is just the underpainting where I'm mapping out color and shadow. The background needs to be darkened up a good deal, which I will do in the next pass.

I really appreciate everyone who has stuck around, rain or shine. I've had some dry periods where I was feeling discouraged by how wonkily patreon is set up (not great messaging and the scam pledges) and when I was super stressed out. I'm grateful to all of you who stayed. 

So here's what's up this spring and summer. I submitted my art to the Dragoncon jury and if they accept I'll have show space as well as a table. So anybody who's going please come see me! If I get in.

Wrist and Elbow explosion

A few days ago I did SOMETHING to myself that really messed up my wrist and it is painful to art. I'm not sure if it's carpal, orbital, tennis elbow, or just plain old tendonitis or what. I'm giving it rest and if it doesn't clear up by the end of the week I'll have to make a doctor's appointment. In the meantime I have some older stuff to share.

I've been doing some woodworking and I scavaged this oak burl out of my wooded hillside. It might be too deteriorated to use but I'll give it a try.
