Comic Misconceptions is coming back on the 14th and I'm finally going to tackle a character that everyone has been asking for what seems like years, Venom!
We're going to do this REAL Origins style, so I'll be talking more about the fascinating (and incredibly dense) history of the character from the perspective of the industry and creative team behind him. This is the kind of stuff that I want to do more of this year, so I hope you enjoy!
To clarify, I will not really be talking about his ap...

Hey everyone! I know I'm a few days late on this (forgive me, I was sick) but I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have supported us in 2014. It was a HUGE year for us. We started out with less than 1000 subscribers with a goal of getting 10,000 by the end of the year. We actually finished 2014 with over 45,000 subscribers!
However, success shouldn't be measured in the number of subscribers or views or any of that. For me, the real success came from all the great friendships we've m...

IMPORTANT: Make sure you hit play at exactly 11pm on December 31st so we can count down the last hour of the New Year with you all! Or, y'know, do whatever you want. It's not really that important.
In this unedited podcast episode, Scott, Chris, and Bryce reflect on 2014 in movies, tv shows, video games, and the amazing progress NerdSync has made thanks to all you fantastic listeners! Be warned, there are a few awkward moments that would normally be edited out, but we kept them in since we didn...

I think I'm going to make it a tradition to tell a Batman Christmas story each year around this time. So next week will be the 2nd Annual NerdSync Batmas featuring a story that I love so much that I almost did it last year. It has taken me an entire year to to finally be able to talk about this tale, and I can't wait to share it with you all. It's a wonderful Silver Age story that is honestly pretty well written and really fun!

We've always thought about making t-shirts, but 2015 looks like the year when we could actually do it! Problem is, we don't know what to make shirts of. As our loyal Patrons, I would like to ask you first for what kinds of things you would want on a t-shirt.
Do you want it to simply say "NerdSync Productions" or "Comic Misconceptions" with our logo? Do you want specific gags and references to things from Comic Misconceptions or the Podcast? Please let us know your thoughts so we can start worki...

Hello loyal patrons! It's that time of month again where we try to nail down a good time to have another hangout! This being a pretty busy month for everyone due to the holidays, the scheduling could get a little weird. Currently, I'm available on the 15th, 16th, 18th, 19th, 22nd, and 23rd. However, any of those dates could change depending on unforeseen consequences of the holidays.
Let me know what works best for you and we'll try to get something in the books!

Seriously, what IS comics? I know it sounds a bit silly to think about, but it's actually a heavily debated topic among comic book researchers and theorists. We're not just talking about comic books or comic strips or graphic novels, but comics as an art form. The problem is that no definition has been accepted as the universal description of what comics is. People typically create definitions that are too broad and tell us nothing about what comics is, or are way too specific and limit what com...

We've got a little bit of a different episode for you this week. It's something that I've wanted to tackle for many months: What is Comics? I want to go through some definitions of comics that were created by leading experts in comics studies to try and see if it is even possible to effectively define comics.
That may sound a little boring written out, but I had a lot of fun researching this one and I hope you all enjoy it!

The Trivia Challenge was a regular feature on our YouTube show, Comic Misconceptions, but it was discontinued many moons ago. Today, we're bringing it to the podcast! Bryce quizzes us about old comic book and superhero movies that show how young and naive we really are. Chris mixes his love of sitcoms with comics in his quiz about actors who have played characters in both. And Scott ironically goes last with is quiz about being FIRST!
How well did you do? Let us know in the comments!

Thanksgiving in America comes with a lot of traditions. One of the longest running ones is the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade that's been happening annually since 1924. Last year we talked about the history of the Superman parade balloon, but this year I want to talk about the awesome and bizarre comic book themed parade floats from both Marvel and DC Comics from the 80s! Get ready for slow-motion fighting, fun music, and an upsetting performance from the Joker. Click on the link to the playlist...

For those of you who don't know, a staple of Comic Misconceptions used to be the Weekly Trivia Challenge. However, due to a TON of very legitimate reasons, I had to stop doing it. There has been unrest ever since, but today I'm happy to announce that it's BACK... but in a different way.
Starting next Monday, the NerdSync Podcast will have the occasional episode dedicated 100% to Chris, Bryce, and myself quizzing each other on comic book trivia!
Full disclosure, our first attempt was a complet...

Superhero movies don't just come from comic books. Today, we're discussing our favorite non-comic superhero films that range from amazingly good to just plain weird. Chris hits us with some unconventional superhero movies from his childhood like Medallion, Drive, and Unbreakable. Scott sticks pretty closely to the classic tights and capes model with The Incredibles, Super, and Sky High. Meanwhile, Bryce talks about Kazaam and Warriors of Virtue, two movies that completely baffle us.

Some of you already know this, but for those who don't NerdSync was recently approached by a group of other comic book channels to join forces and build a central hub of comic book YouTubers. The video explains everything in a bit more detail.
I want to know your honest opinions about this. If you have any questions, I will try my best to answer them. Thanks everyone!

Comic book movies and tv shows are everywhere these days. That means there are lots of actors who get a chance to play our favorite superheroes and comic characters, but which ones are our favorites? Today, Scott, Bryce, and Chris are talking about the actors and actresses who they think portrayed their live-action comic book role the best and the worst. There is also a short trivia quiz at the end involving actors who have played multiple comic book characters.

In yesterday's video, I talked about going into more detail about Groot over here on Patreon. I will definitely do that, but I wanted to also give you a sneak peak into next week's video.
We're talking about Kryptonite! I'm not sure if I'll be making it a "REAL Origins" video or not, but it's certainly shaping up that way. I have taken the liberty of splicing together three episodes of the Adventures of Superman radio show from 1943 that introduce Kryptonite into the mythos of the Man of Steel...
