HTN 4-11 It's just an egg?

Heather, her friends, and her hoard of minions followed the goblins along the swamp's edge. To their left was a towering cliff face that marked the beginning of the mountains.  To their right, the fetid black marshes obscured as always in mist. The gap between the marsh ended, and cliffs began narrowed as the chief and his warriors led the way. The rumbling sound they head in the distance grew louder until the swamp finally cut across their path, going all the way to the ba...

Heather update.

Just so you know the next Heather chapter is done and ready to go, but likely will be up about 2 hours later than normal. I finally got a decent job, and I start tomorrow so I won't be home to post as early as I usually do.

Anyway, my job will not interfere with my writing schedule otherwise, so expect things to go ahead as normal.

Thank you all!

HTN Breanne Ch 1 Young again

The dress was black with silver trims and a white wrap over the chest. Breanne looked at herself in the mirror and smiled at how dark it looked against her fair skin. Her vivid green eyes stood out as she regarded the angular yet feminine elven features of her face. Her ears rose in points through her midnight black hair crowned by a simple golden band with leaf pattern at the crest, giving her the look of a regal maiden of some high court. The mirror told no lies as she turned ...

HTK Breanne origin story in the works

Chapter one of Breanne's story is in the works. I keep going back over it trying to decide if its boring. I spend a lot of time just describing how she feels in this new world, and rehashing some of the history of New Eden.

I feel like I have to do this for logics sake but it results in a chapter where not much happens. I will post it in 12-15 hours and my readers here can tell me what they think. It will be available to $3 patrons and higher, and ONLY to patrons, This isn't going to r...

“To arms!” Chiune shouted as she climbed the slope back to the road. “First company stand at the ready!” Women began to stir and stumble about as she shouted the order again, urging them to move quicker. She ordered the noncombatants to tear the camp down and throw it in the wagons. “Hitch the horses and be ready to run!”

“Governess Commander Chiune!” Yarvine shouted as she stormed down the road with her guards in tow. “I gave you an order!”

HTN- News Breanne short story

I am working on a stand alone short story about Breanne to tell about the time she first arrives in New Eden. I want to explore her character more so I can make more use of her in the main story. This will be posted a patreon exclusive at the $3 range or higher.

I will then write similar stories about Frank and Quinny, Telling something about them and giving some history pre Heather.

So look for that in the future.

HTN 4-10 This is yours

The night passed uneventfully as Heather lay in bed, the rain gently soothing her to sleep. She was woken twice when Breanne used the door to come and go instead of passing through the wall, but for the most part,  got a good night's sleep. When morning came, she sat up with a yawn to see Breanne talking to Frank about the trail ahead. She overheard something about shadows and splashing but didn't catch much more. She reached for her pack and dug out the crown, sitting on t...

HTN NEWS 4-10 is not ready yet

I have been working on 4-10 all day exploring the mimic concept. I have nearly 5k of a story line but it's all dialog and and exposition so I am trying to rework it and tell more story. Anyway, I will get it up as soon as I can, probably late tonight, or early depending on where you live.

HTN 4-9 Fire beats wood.

The mist of the swamp rolled about the tall reeds as Heather smiled at her new creation. The spell allowed her to replace her bone knight with something bigger and more powerful, and now it stood before them.

“Ummm,” Breanne said as she gazed on the beast in black armor. “That looks dangerous.”

Heather walked around him, studying the new creation. He stood just over two meters tall even when hunched over. His arms reached to his knees, ending in hands...

HTN 4-8 Never hurt my spider!

When morning came, Heather woke to the sound of distant hammering. The sun was still low, the morning air laden with dew and the smells of the swamp. She lifted her head to see Quinny running across the courtyard and heading their way.

“Heather, Frank, you have to come see this!” she said excitedly.

Heather sat up and yawned before smiling at the snoring spider asleep beside her.  Quinny ran up to the palanquin and pointed back to the keep.   View Post

HTK Extra chapter.

The next chapter for Heather is coming in 3-4 hours. I want to say thank you to all the new patreon supporters and show my gratitude by releasing more content. It would be ready now but the real Legeis spoke to me all night over discord, so blame him for it not being ready.

DKP 5-24 Who do you love?

Sarah and Gersius were the talk of the camp as people discussed the duel they witnessed. For many, it was a display of grand skill, that caused a few more women to come forward seeking to join Astikar. For Lilly and Thayle, it was another matter entirely, one they were not sure how to approach. Sarah was a lovely creature to be sure, but she wasn't at all like Lilly. There was no air of innocence or naivety about her. She was strong, committed, dominant, and somewhat motherly in...

The skeletons approached the ruins of the keep, hoisting her palanquin over the brush and rubble. Frank warned them that something else might be living inside and urged them to be careful. He walked ahead of the group to draw out any potential danger as they wound their way down the path.

“Not exactly a five-star hotel,” Heather remarked as they skeletons carried her closer. The main entrance was a stone arch that once held a wooden gate. The doors were long go...

Gedris winced as the lash hit her rear, joining the three previous lines.  Ayawa corrected her position again and stood back to shake her head.  “Your feet are too wide. You are vulnerable in such a stance.”

“How am I vulnerable?” Gedris asked as she raised her weapons against Tavis

Ayawa nodded to Tavis, and he came in, leading with his blades. Gedris took a wide stance, and he moved quickly, sweeping her off her legs to fall in the dirt.  &...

HTN 4-6 This is fun.

Heather and the others followed into a castle with marble floors and colored tapestries hanging on soaring walls. It was lit by magical lights that floated inside brass cages hanging from above. The guard took them to a long narrow room that looked dusty and empty. A green carpet ran the length of the center of the room to a raised platform. Up the three steps was a throne of polished wood with faded green padding. It looked as empty as the town, with no servants to care for the...

HTN 4-5 on the road

Heather tapped through the panel as the skeletons carried them aloft, marching through the darkness without a care. She was bound and determined to read every skill and subskill in the list to know the full range of what she could become. Nearly all of them could be taken multiple times and grant additional features, making a maze of possibilities.

“That’s silly,” she declared. “I can’t dodge arrows unless I put five skill points into dodge.”

“Ow!” Gedris cried as the lash struck her back leg.

“You are stepping too wide,” Ayawa scolded as she stood nearby with a thin tree branch in her arm.

“You said I need to brace myself for a block,” Gedris argued.

“Brace yourself, not root to the spot,” Ayawa remarked. “We have gone over this before! You will not be able to get your feet under you in time with so wide a stance.”

Gedris sighed and looked across to her s...

“You can’t be serious,” Frank said as he looked the rough thing over.

“I am very serious,” Heather replied as she walked around it with some pillows in hand. “This way, we can travel all night.”

“It looks crude but sturdily built,” Breanne added as she shook the side.

Heather smiled at her ingenuity and put more cushions inside her new litter. She had seen it as an option to buy on her panel and used that image to show Umtha a...

DKP 5-21 A match for a dragon

The morning was still dark as Gersius trained in the empty meeting tent. The party was a success on a level unimagined, and the camp was already showing the difference. Men and women talked, sharing a dance or two as the food flowed and wounds healed. The change in the order of Astikar's appearance and the announcement that women would be allowed in also had an effect. Sarah was something of a hero by the women of Ulustrah for restoring women to Astikar. Still, few were willing ...

The sky was shaded in purples and blues as the storm clouds blew over the camp, pouring with rain. The dawn was still two hours away, leaving the landscape cast in gloomy shadows.

Gersius sat just inside the doorway of the meeting tent listening to the rain as it soaked the landscape. Lilly sat to his right, leaning into his side as he held her close. Her head was on his shoulder, watching the rain with him while stroking Gentle Thayle, who slept soundly acr...

Umtha sat on the steps of her woven hut, looking over the yard.  Goblins labored around her to build a proper village and create a new home across the stream from the graveyard. She looked up to see the crow sitting on a tree branch watching her intently but paid it no mind. She went back to sitting there like she was thinking over a deep thought as the village went up around her.

None of the others were happy the village was here. Frank even asked Umtha...

The column marched, making good progress as they wound down the dusty road. The weavers magic lightened the load and hastened their journey, allowing them to navigate hills and slopes with ease. The scouts hadn't seen anything for miles but small villages and rolling farms. It would appear the back of the raven guard was broken, and any surviving men too few in number to stand in their way. Any reinforcements they picked up now would likely be turned around to run back to Calath...

HTN 4-2 A fun little surprise

Heather tore through the pages of the book, looking for anything talking about Abbadon, or it's queen. She also skimmed every page, trying to locate information about Hathlisora or portals to other worlds. Breanne and Frank encouraged her to rest, but she was determined to know more, and the book was her only resource.

The going was hard; she translated the keywords into the code and searched for them on every page. Near the back of the book, she received her...

Gersius hammered at the forge, his brow sweating as he beat the glowing metal. Of the woman of Ulustrah who joined his fledgling order, only five had chosen to switch to Astikar. Despite the announcement that Sarah would train them personally, the turnout hadn't been very good. The women didn't want to bend a knee and sing praises to Astikar, a divine they despised.  All in all, Sarah had twenty-one recruits, nine of which came from the women in the militia. So the poll is still going and the Lilly thing is winning and I don't care.  Thanks to your kind messages and support I spent the last couple of days rereading some of Lilly's big moments  and coming to a better understanding.  Lilly, is love. And Lilly loves Gersius.  It doesn't matter that I can use the calling to justify it, Lilly and her emotions are the magic in this story, and going down this path cheapens EVERYTHING!
