By the way, it's probably still not a totally good idea to bring your IP68-rated devices into a hot bathtub or shower since they're most likely not tested in those specific conditions. Yaya gets away with it, though.

chapter 7 WIP: So far it looks like this

Here's all the pages so far. It'll probably be at least 20, possibly like 24 pages long. I think I'm used to working on a single story over the span of a few months now, so I feel okay about it. It's actually easier than trying to condense everything...

chapter 7 WIP: moving pictures

This is the last WIP post for the month...

In the interest of making these posts more interesting, I decided to try recording some inking. Simple screenshots were starting to get a little boring, so hopefully WebM's will be a bit better.

... Or so I thought it would be, but I'm having trouble getting the WebM's on here. Patreon can't use them directly and it doesn't seem like linking them from elsewhere works either, so GIFs it is (that way I don't have to bother with any third party hosting either). The second one is kinda wonky, but it's passable.

chapter 7 WIP: So Many Pages

I remembered to take WIP pictures today!

I think chapter 7 will finish in July or so... It's a little new to be extending a single chapter as far as two months ahead (three months of publishing in total), but it's fine. I thought doing eight/month would make things neat and simple, but in the end it doesn't offer much over longer chapters like this, even from like an organizational or time management point of view. So, long chapters it is.

2 - I made some very small changes to the screentones that I use for shading and coloring, so they're a bit less dense now. I prefer the look for reasons I haven't really come up with yet.

chapter 7 WIP: It's longer than chapter 6

Hello!

It has been quiet on Patreon lately... I've been busy helping out with home renovations since last week that involved moving my desk and stuff around. Naturally, no drawing was done.

Right now I'm set up on a different desk in another part of the house that is remarkably less suited for drawing comics, but I'll persevere. In the meantime, here's where things are at! (that picture up there)

Those first eight pages are the finished ones that are publishing right now, and the following eight are the ones I'm on track to finish by the end of May. I remember last month I was all like "I could totally finish this chapter before the end of April"

I didn't, obviously. But not in a bad sense; it's been good to just ditch the page limit I was imposing on myself and instead just make chapters as long as they need to be. It's too bad the previous chapters suffered for it, but what's done is done.

I want to post some more WIP stuff in a bit because I've been really bad about that since like a month ago. Until then...

Hi there!

Did you notice that everyone has new uniforms on?! It's spring now, after all. Though you'll also notice that it's not mandatory and some people like Yaya still have the cardigan on, albeit with the sleeves rolled up. I'm thinking about making a bonus page at some point to talk about the school's dress code, which was of course painstakingly pondered during the creation of WisteriA.

07-01 Chapter 7: Azalea!

Welcome to chapter 7. WisteriA has been publishing for 6 whole months! (and some)

Chapter 7 concerns a new character. As of writing and posting this, the chapter isn't finished being drawn just yet, but the first 8 pages are ready for posting throughout the month of May. I don't actually know how long it's going to be, but there are four additional pages currently storyboarded and at least like five or six more to go. A whole other month's worth of posting, in other words.

May updates! Chapter 7 soon, commissions (!!)

Hello! Happy May. Thanks to all the patrons who have stuck around until now, and also to a new one who recently joined. Thank you, thank you.

With May comes a veritable spring-like feeling, so it feels like a good time to change things up a little and move forward bit by bit.

Now that I've gotten more or less used to the comic-making workflow, it feels feasible to re-open some commission slots. I'll be setting up my Ko-fi page to accept commission requests this month, and you'll be able to grab one whenever there's a slot available. I can't say exactly how many slots will be open at once or how often they'll be open, but the opportunity is there, at least. I'm thinking they'll be $40 like the commission tier I used to have here on Patreon and I'll have samples up to showcase what kind of end results you can expect.

I'll make another announcement once that's all set up. In the meantime, work continues on chapter 7 as chapter 6 wraps up. In fact, the last page comes out tomorrow! I hope it was an enjoyable one.

06-12 Trading drawings

Chapter 6 is over now. We got to see some more sketches by the girls themselves, too. I guess it's kind of a trend at this point...

This past chapter was a challenge on a few levels, mainly when it came to the pacing. Aside from that, it was also harder than usual simply due to the slightly higher number of pages this time around. It was doable though, and it should be easier next time with a bit more planning (I ended up cramming 10 of the 12 pages into three days at the end of March).

I hope it was enjoyable. Chapter 7 starts very soon! I can't say for sure if it'll be on May 10th at the time of writing this, but it most likely will. Until then!

It's officially the longest WisteriA chapter ever!

You might be wondering why there's a page like this here. It's a two-page spread, of course, and you would be right to think that it makes much more sense in the context of a printed volume instead of an online comic.

There you have it. This isn't an announcement for a printed version or anything, but I do make these pages with the intent to eventually get some physical volumes made. Maybe a year from now!

Finally, this is the first time I'm posting two pages in one day, simply because it'd probably be rude to make you wait four days for a bunch of floating sparkling pentagons.
