After a year of working on the home—fixing, upgrading, and rebuilding—it is finally time to put a roof back on. This milestone will likely mark the first time in 20–30 years that the home hasn’t leaked. This week, we also discovered a pretty big mistake Nick made. happy friday everyone! hope you guys are having a great holidays. we just finished up for today and thought we would update you live. tada!

ep.42 our abandoned home has a roof

This week, we reached a major milestone in our home renovation. After 10 months of tearing down, repairing, and replacing, we can officially say that the majority of our structural repairs are complete. Tune in this week for updates about our New York trip, along with answers to several intriguing Nosey Neighbour questions.

the roof is finally done.

No more framing. No more sheathing. The peanut house finally has a brand new roof.

Just a few more weeks and hopefully we can get it sealed!

The poles on the left and right are temporary while we wait for the concrete to strengthen. As soon as it’s fully cured we will drill into it and install the threaded rods to hold the metal up by itself.

This week, we tackled our most challenging project yet. Our 1960s stairs were starting to cave in, and it was time for a permanent fix. Little did we know how much math would be involved in rebuilding the steps.
