Choose your busy.

Hello lovely Patrons. Happy still-winter.

Lately, my busy mind is busying itself on the business of busyness. Something I hear a lot is "you seem so busy" which might be true. I do DO a lot of things but I choose those things very VERY carefully. I've been thinking about what it means to choose what keeps you busy, and how much less busy I feel when I get to choose. 

We often describe kids as being "so busy" meaning they are very absorbed in their tasks or that they are alway...

The Living Colouring Book behind the scenes

A little behind the scenes about this giant project that I wanted to share with you first! I'm thinking of doing a little voice over chat about some of the stuff that went into this huge project. Story time comic: where does creativity go?

This month’s journal comic is a little longer than usual because I just have so many thoughts on this subject. I have a dream project to one day make a little zine all about becoming an artist and the very strange circumstances that led me here. Consider this comic a little slice of that story. AHHHH THAT WAS SO AWESOME!!!! Oh Patrons what a wonderful day. I'll be putting together a more detailed "behind the scenes" of this giant project, but I was just so excited to share. Art Gargoyle strikes again.

Being an artist is a weirdly physical job. It's the kind where your posture and work habits can really sneak up on you. You'll get to see a bit more of this during the Studio Tour video coming soon, but in the meantime, let my foibles entertain you while reminding us all to SIT THE HECK UP ALREADY. Thanks to you wonderful patrons, at the very least I can take the time to make a deprecating comic about it which is a very good reminder indeed.
