Hello lovely Patrons. Happy still-winter.
Lately, my busy mind is busying itself on the business of busyness. Something I hear a lot is "you seem so busy" which might be true. I do DO a lot of things but I choose those things very VERY carefully. I've been thinking about what it means to choose what keeps you busy, and how much less busy I feel when I get to choose.
We often describe kids as being "so busy" meaning they are very absorbed in their tasks or that they are always engaged in something. But when we get older, that's not what busy means. Sometimes it means important. Sometimes being busy means relied upon by many people. Sometimes it looks like it just means chasing your tail. Rowena here is a very specific type of busy. She chose her task very carefully but she also looks pretty happy about it.
Tell me patrons, do you feel too busy? Just the right amount? Not busy enough? I am so curious. Thank you for supporting my work so that even when I am doing so may many things, I never feel stressed about being busy. I'm as happy as Rowena after she's caught the BIGGEST frog of all.
Happily busily yours,
Brenda
