Okay, no Halloween theme. Just a peek into the dark side. Can be any time of year. Autumn too. Smells like sulfur though, not freshly fallen leafs and rain.

Even though all my monsters might suggest otherwise, I'm a friend of all animals big and small, and that's why I am vegetarian, near vegan, and I'm still fine. I don't miss meat at all. Honestly. May be hard to comprehend. 10 years ago I would've laughed about it but my daughters kindly nudged me in that direction and I'm glad they did. So, I thought I'd make a pinup in that spirit, because...well...not only tigers are beautiful. I absolutely love pigs, chickens and cows too. I wish I had far...

I thought it was a nice change from all the devils, demons and monsters but I have still several lined up because I didn't finish them in time for Halloween. Not to worry, I'll not wait until March Monstah Month with them. You know how impatient monsters are. Besides, there are rumours that whole new batches are already rattling at the gates for March.

Much to my own surprise there's not a monster in this painting. You could argue that the devilish beauty is a demon and therefor a monster, but come on...look at her! Really? Nah... 😁
These kind of close encounter pictures are the hardest to do because everything needs to connect the right way, anatomically and pose wise. I think it's a succes.

Don't ask me how I got here because I have no idea. Just started working on a pretty old sketch of the lady in just the apron, and then all this happened. It was fun, let that be clear, but it could be a series of about 50 versions. One thing leads to another.  I just stopped somewhere because it takes hours to get all these versions right.

It was a MHB drawclub (on insta and X) challenge ("paint it your style") and even though there's no B in the original I thought I'd add one. A goblin alone is not that interesting to paint for me. Nevertheless; Halloween may be over but...Monsters never are... 😆

Almost there and some are there for a while already. Lovely holiday. I hope it'll really makes its way to the Netherlands, especially for the grownups, because that makes the streets a lot more interesting, right?

By the way; that neighbour is so into Halloween and the character she choses to be. She's been a delight, several years already. :)
