In order to keep the chronological order of this, what turned out to be a series, I decided to repost the first one as a beacon and a reminder for the rest. Otherwise I'd probably get asked where to find that first painting (other versions are still out here by the way, if you just joined this page).
I didn't plan this or I would've adjusted the colours of the later ones to that initial painting, but I don't think the difference is too disturbing. It's much more about the idea than tryi...

After posting a demon it's only a small step to a vampire, right? Here's one that may have been invited or that assumed limitation is just another myth? Anyway, the vampire is not as pretty as the demon, he's not as hot either. The whole vampire cult makes for some dramatic pictures though and I've always liked it (hence, my Kristina Queen of Vampires graphic novel trilogy). I try not to mix the erotic with the bloody, but vampire scenes are about the only exception to that rule.

I shouldn't do this, I've said it before and I'll say it again. I did it anyway, though. I have let myself be inspired by someone that won't ever get here. But she did follow my insta account and does comment on that stuff on a regular basis for some time now, to my defence, and what's more, she did not ask.
So, this came from it. Thought it was a nice change from the Model Session series, that I must admit I'm still working on... :D

This is a comic I am painting a page for every month. There’s only a rough storyline, that I won’t disclose, to have some
guidance, but I try to spontaneously go with the flow otherwise. It isn’t yet perfect. I paint quickly to not lose momentum and will clean it up when it’s done. I’m not sure how many pages it will be but I’m aiming for a basic 44.

Next to the Beauty and the Beast theme there's this favourite of mine. I've been there and it gives massive energy when you work with the right person. If it's the wrong person with an entirely different agenda the day is killed swiftly, but I have done series with models that are second to none. When I paint stuff like this I revisit the good days. This is actually sort of a portrait of an actress who I think has truly amazing features. You don't see much of her I'm afraid, but she came by in a movie I can't remember...or was it a series? I just wanted to paint her. At least once. That happens now and again. It's not ideal to do portraits from material that is on the web though, to say the least. It's either promotional or red carpet stuff or shots from movies which is too much info and too leading usually. I think I did pretty well all...

I'm never sure if I'll manage to paint everything I sketch. I just record ideas to not forget them, hoping that I'll get to it and a better idea doesn't bump the sketched ones from the priority list. Not that I really mind when that happens though. The new idea may be better but while sketching an idea, I totally intend to really paint it too.
And I have done several already, as you have seen.
That's a good subtitle for all sketch posts, I think.
Here's what I love as well. The seemingly slightly timid but oh so sensual glance. Close quarters paintings are pretty difficult to paint but a smile like that is no walk in the park either. But that's why I like this subject to paint and draw so much.
Challenges all over the place and it never bores me, not even when something goes wrong.
