She's like a huntress with an armored spider familiar! I use semi-moist pan watercolors and talk about the underpainting and coloring process.

Some of these are more or less sketches. For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated with seeing artwork in different stages of completion. Usually I post process shots here and there on a social media story or whatever but then they disappear. I love looking back and seeing what something looked like halfway through or halfway finished, but typically I only scan the finished piece.

I haven't played through the whole thing yet but i've had a lot of requests and commissions for Hollow Knight stuff, so i've been looking at a lot of reference from the game. I have it on steam but no good controller so i've just been exploring the early areas on a laptop keyboard.
Anyway I really love how these turned out. I feel like i'm getting in the right groove with this style and this game provides great material to practice on. Maybe a print set? Let me know what you think...

These postcard-sized mini prints just came in! Everybody is gonna get at least one and if you're My dude tier (or above) then you'll get all 3. I like glossy cardstock for the contrast and I think these turned out great!

Final + lines
Over the last few years i've been in pursuit of my optimal drawing style (whatever that means.) I have spent most of my time focusing on graphite and made a ton of progress. In my last post I talked about switching to colored pencil to do the same thing. Colored pencil doesn't smear and adding ink wash on top increases the contrast of the line work.
So I feel kind of ridiculous doing all this switching around but its feeling great so i'm focusing on that

The era of black colored pencil has begun
I've been messing around with graphite + ink wash for a while and I really like that. I enjoy drawing with colored pencil but most of the time I only end up using them in my sketchbook. I wanted to see how for a could push a black colored pencil for linework. I love the contrast and the texture, the only downside being a colored pencil needs to be sharpened much more often than a graphite pencil in order to keep that sharp edge.

Hello! Thanks to an amazing friend i should be getting a scanner soon, so i'll be able to deliver the digital scans and sketchbooks of my recent works very soon! I'm still getting settled after a sudden move so currently I don't have access to a scanner. Nice phone pictures may have to do for now. It has been quite hard to draw in the past few weeks and I'm just now rounding the bend on what has been the biggest art block in a long time.

This started out as a postcard reward and now its a print! The very same print that's coming in the mail for August pledges. Since the goal was met this month, anyone who pledges before the end of August will get one of these sweet babies :)
The print is 4x6 inches on premium stock paper and it looks gorgeous. You won't be able to get these anywhere else and i'll put a little doodle on the back.
the first 3 pages anyway! Its taken a lot of practice and time in the sketchbook to figure out this ink wash look. I think it looks pretty good and more importantly its fun to execute :]
There's gonna be 3 or so more pages to round this out and a bunch of other stuff I can't wait to announce.

There's a new video in there! I also have a quick question for y'all: do you prefer longer or shorter videos? OR post a specific length you enjoy/watch frequently.
I'm curious because videos that are 15+ minutes become somewhat inconvenient (for me) just because of the time investment. I'm not looking to change up my current format too much but i'd love to hear what you think!
