I visited Tokyo recently, and had an experience that was so ridiculous it felt like a bad dream~ I ended up in a mall in Ikebukuro that had devoted almost a whole floor to JUST gachapon machines, aisles and aisles of them, literally hundred of machines. It was like a minotaurs' labyrinth of the things, and I was totally awestruck, they had so many cute and weird toys to choose from!! I like the idea of Kazu going out of his way to source rare ingredients to make medicines with. I think about this sort of thing a lot even though it doesn't come out in the comic. In this case maybe these rare white pumpkins with smiley faces provide some special healing properties... or maybe they're just really cute!

I have to admit I'm very happy to put the last year behind me.
