These all started as rough sketches and the plan was to pick one out to color. But the more I sketched the more I enjoyed all if them 👌 Hope you do too!

Hello everyone 💖 sorry April wasn't very active. Around Easter time a lot of things came up that occupied my mind. My old house is finally listed for sale which is is exciting and bittersweet. Fingers crossed it sells 🤞 And I'll be getting a new latop soon! I had my current one for 11 years now and its been slowing down. A very strange journey of Geist

A while back I said I wanted to redesign a horse OC of mine. So a few days ago I was looking at references from the Spirit movie because I wanted to practice the style. About a week ago my bf and I went on a family vacation to Steamboat Springs, CO. It was quite something and a learning experience of sorts should we decide future visits.

I have been on a roll with doing a drawing a day and Im especially proud of all these pages. Continuing with my OCs, we have more horses, featuring Haiiro and Sham!

It's fun being able to get back into drawing horses and also seeing our OCs again. My art style has definitely improved and there is a lot more confidence I have now compared to then.

Sketchbook tour!

A collection of work

I'm nearing the end of my current sketchbook and I'm eager to finish it and move onto another. When I do finish it I'll have to take a video of it as a sketchbook tour!

A while back I was revising an old horse character of mine that was the offspring of Spirit and Rain. I never really settled on a coat. I've been playing around with it again and here were the options I was liking the most. Any thoughts? 👀

Pokemon!

I got the New Pokemon Snap for christmas and it's added ten years to my life. Even as a kid I never considered drawing art for it which is weird because little creatures were my jam. Here is present me trying to make up for that 😂

I wanted to try those variations artists do, so theres a normal bulbasaur, and a Cacnea and Slowpoke type. Not too happy with the Cacnea because the colors I picked could have been better but OH WEL! Afterwards I did a Machop for a friend :3 💖

December Update

I'm alive, I swear! November and December have been hella busy which has been good for me. It's kept my mind focused on positive things.

In 2020 these months were really rough; my mom and I got covid, we were sick over the holidays and I cared for her the best I could till her passing in february. I still have bad days where I can't stop crying. Good things have happened this year, but it's been a tug of war on what my mind wants to focus on.

When joining the ME fandom, I have been sadly disappointed how little love krogan got in terms of art and attention. Before the purge on tumblr it was mostly sexual related and it got creepy. And don't get me started on the racist discussions people had on the genophage OOF

Birthday girl

November 1st is Branka's in-character birthday. I had this sad story that her mother died on her birthday, and her birthday also falls on Dia de los Muertos. I played a lot with themes about remembering loved ones and cherishing memories.

Funeral pyre

This was done back in 2014 back when I would RP in tumblr's Mass Effect community, or MERP as folks would call it. I was doing this story of how Branka attended a funeral for the fallen after the reaper war, and for the krogan women who died on Sur'Kesh. This was when she would run into her dad who she runs into as they both pay respects to her mom. I really enjoyed using my markers for this

I'm browsing the files on my laptop and looking at past art and seeing if there is any interesting and fun things to share. I am always pleasantly surprised when I find that I saved the digital sketches of my pieces. Here are two CDN characters, Lavahk and Stygian with flower crowns!

Originally I wanted to do a set of these with my krogan too, with flowers that represented their personalities. Somewhere in my archive is a rough piece of Branka with sunflowers.

Lydia Shenanigans

So a thing I tend to do is draw faces and anatomy poses when I'm bored because it's hard to come up with dynamic stuff on my own. For me it gets frustrating because as my art I'm seeing it all the time. I want IMMEDIATE change but you only get that when you ACTUALLY DRAW 🤣
