DOC STALKERS

Here's the Morrigan (and well basically a Darkstalkers-ish) illustration for this month! Featuring Lilith and Q Bee, and a lot of variations (mostly just every color combo and pose stuff, plus individually)

It was fun to work on (except making the files for the variants LOL) but yeah, I'll catch up on posting other things next, that took quite a bit whew!

Also, as a general heads up- I'll be at Anime Expo this coming weekend, in Artist Alley, table L43. Come by and say hello if you happen to be at the convention! m(_)m

More Again!

The Morrigan sketches for this set! 

A lot of new ones, but also some from the last time she won the poll (and battled B.B. Hood / Bulletta!), as well as some scans from the archives. There were several images I never made into PNGs, or even scanned from my sketchbook. So I guess it's a bit of a fun tour of several years of Morrigan drawings. I would tend to draw her as a go-to if I was in a bit of a rut or needed to warm up, so she's kinda sprinkled across my various sketchbooks and other locations.

That being said, there are also several new ones. It's all kinda mixed together, though the later half of the set is more of the scanned archives, and the front half are more of the ones I am leaning towards.

That being said, as usual, please feel free to let me know if you have any preferences  of which you'd like to see taken to completion, I'll potentially factor that in if it becomes readily apparent there is a major favorite.

MORRIGAN wins the poll!

WHEW ! Ok, I was really cramming to get the book ready for Anime Expo- (I gathered a lot of new material / made pngs of things that weren't yet, some of which I'll share on Patreon soon too) 

It's in the printer's hands for now (until any questions come back, but hopefully it's smooth sailing from here on out) in the meantime- catching up on this month's illustration. 

Here are the poll results! 

Morrigan is the winner with a definitive score of 92, with Mai Shiranui at 70 and Baiken at 53. I kinda liked the top picks as a group and ended up making a results picture to announce it haha~ I have a lot of Morrigan pieces I'd like to take to completion, so I'm glad she ended up winning. Quite definitively, in fact! I'll be compiling the sketches in the next post.

(Tina ended up surprisingly high in the poll too :0 I'm thinking of doing a DOA themed poll some time in the future too)

Wild Rider Bulma PSD and process video!

I don't know why the video is flipped- I tried to fix it on the ipad before bringing it over but it still is- very strange hmmm- but anyway, the process is basically the same, just flipped, haha.

This was one of the requests way back in the January request theme! (I ended up doing a few bonus illustrations, completed this for Fanime in general)

I'm currently putting together the next From Scratch book (From Scratch 5) with the theme of ipad drawings and sketches- which turns out to be a lot of them now, since I often involve my ipad in my illustration process a lot, and have a lot of WIPs /  incomplete pieces that I'd like to share as well.

As such, I've been going through a lot of the files. While this month's poll is running, I figure I should share this at least !

For now, gonna dive back into file this file juggling labyrinth! Gotta get it done by the end of this week to be on time for Anime Expo~

This month's art challenge theme on the Discord server is "your OC as a mermaid" I worked on this while I was away from my desk top this past mother's day weekend.

It seemed like a good prompt for Maylgeiz~ Her Brave Buster armor has different modes to it! Including an aquatic mermaid mode!?

I'll have to sketch other modes and/or more of this as well some day, but it was a fun prompt and excuse to draw this!

Masane and Riho Mother's Day illustration PSD and process video!

Masane and Riho wishing you a Happy Mother's Day !!

I was away from my desktop during the Mother's Day weekend, so I did some illustration work on my ipad in the meantime~

Masane and Riho Amaha from the Witchblade anime. Regardless of the quality of the show itself, Masane was an absurdly hot character / design. Definitely was the one to have convinced me of the appeal of jeans!

Anyway, immediately derailed myself there, but I ended up not being able to resist the urge to draw her for mother's day! I hadn't drawn her since the show's debut back in like.. 2008? So it's been a while! Was refreshing to revisit. I definitely would love to try again, maybe a more direct pic of her standing.

Her Witchblade form is fun too, but I actually like her casual version by far the most. It'd be funny if the show ended up that she can transform, but it keeps getting interrupted and most of the show is just Masane being herself and/or learning how to take care of Riho in general. Kind of like how the best parts of Buddy Daddies is the parenting parts of the show, despite the action movie elements in it too haha.

EDIT: Dug a little deeper into the archives and found a bunch more Masane pics, including an actual Witchblade sketch lol! Plus, a bunch of Filia as the Witchblade drawings. I figure I could add those in here too.

"May Days" Poll Results, Fallout grabs a big lead!

The poll results are in, and it's pretty cool to see all of the top 4 are OC characters~ That's pretty neat and I really appreciate that!

Also, the leads in every category ended up about the same this time around. It's kind of fascinating to see, as I'm still playing around with different settings for how to do weighted voting. The result proportions are about the same with or without weighted voting.

Either way, taking a lead in pretty much every category this time is Fallout! A classic character at this point aha~ I think I know which drawing I'll start with first, and see if I can do more- but as always, I like to hear which of these WIPs / sketches you'd like to see completed the most- it might influence my decision potentially.

I might also want to try some additional characters from the poll this month if possible- got some plans down the list, we'll see how far I can get!

You can see a bit of the process of putting this together- I was thinking about it while doing other tasks during the month, so I kind of knew what I wanted to do- though if I had more time, I might have tried further experiments. Either way, hope you enjoy the files / process!

Keyword Prompt Character Design Challenge: "Button"

Here's something fun in the meantime while the poll is running~

There are monthly art challenges held on the Discord Server- April's challenge was to design a character based on a randomly selected keyword from two choices.

The two choices I was given was "Button" and "Foundation" I primarily focused on Button, but also used Foundation as a guiding element.

Went for the technological side of Button for this one, with some sort of vague console/remote/technology ginjinka, as well as I wanted to mostly visually show an "On" sign on a butt LOL.. so yeah built the rest of the character around that stupid pun lol

In a world where touchscreens have replaced buttons, she maintains an archive of every tactile feedback unit ever, within this Foundation.

FYI, May's prompt is turning one's OC into a mermaid! Should be fun~!
