Countless hours later ...

Hand stitching is done! Some parts have multiple layers, so my fingers are officially dead. I had to use pliers pretty often to pull needle through the thickness (´×ω×`)

Aerith photoshoot preview

We did it! Finally flower girl went outside and had a shoot in not only cosplay, but also another outfit! For a special collaboration :> You will see very soon!

We actually went to this place twice - first time, we got stuck in terrible traffic and we were just before sun went down! :<
But we muster our strength, and went again - drove early in the morning and did photos in scorching heat! We survived, we had no choice - it was last day for this pretty place to be open, until ...

Progress dump!

There was so much done, let's put a first batch!
The hardest part was putting two zippers on shoulder/neck part, to look pretty and not bulky! I've spent more time than I want to admit (￣▽￣*)ゞ

Skirt is two layers - top black and bottom, off white! Full of embroidery and horsehair braid! It's not as heavy as I expected! It makes gorgeous waves but I didn't have it done fully on any of photos so you can't see the full flare yet!

Bodysuit is attached to the top part, so...

At the moment Pod is practically finished but here is a sneak peek of some of the pictures I took. Full reveal in few days!
There were probably around 30 separated pieces and more. Some are minuscule. And I was slowly assembling them as I painted them. Because it took so long to put it all together, every piece that ended up connected was a relief 💦💀

It's been a long progress to make the grey parts attached to the white with mesh in between!

Painting progress

Base coats on various pieces of Pod are going forward slowly. It's so long because everything is different colors. Buckles and buttons for 9S are already done!

I put them in a dresser so they don't get dusty while they fully cure. It's getting a little cramped in there with Lightning blade being the late bloomer lately.

I'm so eager to see the Pod take form :))

Practicing Tsukamaki

I have to practice Tsukamaki for both 9S and 2B katanas. As well as, Kadaj and Sephiroth eventually.

I am a beginner so after a few times, I should get the hang of it, or at least in a presentable manner! This is my first time making one.

Second pic, assembling buckles of 9S which I made to work like true metal buckles. I try to think about every detail!

Third one, LZ testing the vectors design on the patterned skirt, she looks adorable though.

I'm preparing what I need to sand right now on the famous kitchen table.

On the third picture you can see I have no space 💔 There are contact lenses on the escalator to keep away from hot temperature as we have only one room with AC. If you want an apartment tour, we will film it for you.

Blades of 9S and 2B base paint is done and...

Happy Sanding Sunday everyone

Today here's what has been accomplished

- Pod head is fixed for the damages it had from the fall
- Lightning blade - Primer
- Sanded new Pod parts that we were missing
- 2B sword - Primer applied and dried
- Kadaj blades - primer
- Fixed the bloody mess in the shed ( Yes Baka we know what you're thinking ; )

Yesterday night's disaster

As you know I paint at nights because of the heat.
Well, something happened yesterday that I did not see coming. For sure...

Around midnight I went to prime the new sword that I just finished, I was so proudly fast! Added in some other random props just to save some time. All went well, everything layed on the table, primer on. I let it dry for 4 hours.

At 4h00 am, I came back to the shed and I just stood there for a minute, perplexed. It's dark in there, I'm confused and exh...

Inferno

We have been having heatwaves here in Canada and this whole week was extreme. It even bent my sword! It's now sort of like a whip 💦💦💀

It was probably around 40 Celcius in the painting shed at some point because there is no airflow. Now, I paint in the middle of the night, all my nights.

Tonight I am assembling the new one as you can see in the top picture. It won't be too long before I catch up.

Not final, but I just modeled this complicated sword sheath for Kadaj's double blade katana.
