What a great TV show

After starting this series in Lockdown #1 in Canada and finishing it in Lockdown #3 in England, I can finally say I've seen the Sopranos. What a great TV show!

The Sopranos was always one of those shows that felt a bit intimidating to start since it's so long - and so often talked about - but I really did enjoy it. As far as crime goes, I don't usually like organised crime stories, but this is certainly different. A truly awesome work of TV!

And without spoiling, ...

A bit trashy but pretty fun!

Looking for a new TV show? We just watched The Flight Attendant! It's a little bit trashy and a little bit ridiculous, but it's pretty fun, too. It was originally a novel - which makes a lot of sense - but it's not bad as a TV show!

Sometimes you just need a series that's a bit silly.

Anyone watch this one?

A great spookem!

Looking for a new spookem? Give The Vigil a try! It's so eery and unsettling and takes place all in one home (I personally love films that get away with just one location).

It's straight to the point, great jump scares and a different type of plot/spookem than I've seen before! All in all, I'd definitely recommend this one if you like spooky films!

Denzel, I missed you!

One of my favourite crime/mystery films growing up was the Bone Collector - a real personal favourite! This year we join Denzel Washington back hunting a serial killer and I loved him in The Little Things!

This film was originally written in the early 90s, and it does feel pretty 90s, but I enjoyed it anyway. There's some pretty common tropes and cliques but I don't care! I enjoyed it!!

Have you guys seen this one? I'd recommend it if you're looking for a new myst...

Lots of tension! Such a good film!

Have you seen The Nest?? I really enjoyed it! I went into it knowing nothing other than Jude Law was in it and it might be a slow burn. Overall I thought it was incredible! Wonderful acting and a story that I think a lot of people can pull from.

I think it's a little bit misleading being labeled as a "mystery/thriller" and it would be disappointing thinking that's what the movie will be. It's not that! It's a classic drama that I really enjoyed watching. Lots o...

What to watch a movie that hurts your stomach?

I watched Escape from Pretoria (available on Amazon Prime) and my stomach HURT by the end! The story follows the true story of anti-apartheid activists trying to escape prison - lots of anxiety, lots of tension, I was so clammy by the end of it.

It's not the best movie, but it's a good movie. I didn't know the story either, so that was a bonus. It's certainly worth a watch!

April Book Club!!

This month's book is The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (you can buy it here if you want tor read along). I'm a little late to the month since I didn't finish March's on time, but oh well!

My best friend from Ontario bought it for me and she has a pretty good judge of books, so fingers crossed it's a good one!!

Happy reading this month, everyone!

Typical Tom Hanks!

Recently I watched News of the World and it was fine! It felt like a typical Tom Hanks film but nothing too special. It's certainly worth a watch if you can get your hands on it. It was going to cost my mum $20 to rent it back in Ontario - definitely not worth that price tag!

I'd say a solid 3/5 Tom-Hanks-Riding-On-Horses

Great scenery, basic plot, good Tom Hanks moments. Sometimes that's all you need! Have you guys seen it?

March Book Club - OOPS!

This month I've been reading "The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared" but I haven't finished it yet! I think I'm going to continue this one into April and should finish it then.

It's been good! And the book is really witty with lots of dead-pan humour, but I haven't been gripped by the story as much as other books over the last year. I'm not rushing to pick it up again, so it's been a bit slow going. Planning on finishing it soon-ish, tho...

I loved it!

While The Dig can be a bit slow, I really enjoyed this movie! I thought Ralph Fiennes and Carey Mulligan were both wonderful and the story was really interesting!! Plus you get some beautiful shots of the English countryside.

You should still be able to catch this on Netflix UK :) Has anyone else watched it?

Hey guys!

I thought you might be interested in seeing the clips and footage that we shot when filming "How Can you Tell When You're In a British Village"! Since a YT #short can only be 60 seconds or less, there's a lot of footage that gets deleted and never seen again!

Hope you enjoy!

PO Box Surprises!

Hi everyone!

Just to let you know guys, PO Box ~mysterious packages~ have arrived! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

The plan right now is I'm going to film/open stuff as they arrive and collate the clips into one Patreon video. Originally I was going to wait until enough stuff arrived to fill a video and open it all at once, but I'm too curious. They had to be opened right away.

I really do appreciate all of your kindness and support - thank you!

A great spookem!

A movie that is certainly not for everyone, I recently watched Saint Maud. Personally, I thought it was great! A real psychological thriller with a really interesting plot. Great acting, great story, but certainly not one I would recommend for my mother!

Spookems!

You can rent this one on Amazon Prime UK, too.

SO GOOD!

Recently I watched the new thriller Run and I loved it! It's nerve-wracking with incredible acting and a really interesting story! I really enjoyed it a lot!! Plus it's not often that you see a main character who uses a wheelchair.

I don't want to spoil any of the story, so I'll just say that it's a great thriller and I would definitely recommend it!

No thank you!

You might have seen Amazon Prime advertising their new movie I Care A Lot - I hated it! I get that it's supposed to be a "black comedy" but it's about a woman who exploits and abuses vulnerable people and has very little comedy about it. It felt so strange. At one point we were going to turn it off, but I felt like I might as well finish it.

I understand what they were trying to do, but I didn't like it!  I felt like it missed the mark on being a black comedy, and ...

BEST FILM IN RECENT TIMES. THIS IS NOT A DRILL

I watched Another Round and I LOVED IT.

Starring Mads Mikkelsen, this Danish film comes with subtitles but it was unbelievable. I don't think it should be categorised as a "comedy" but it was so heartbreaking and such a raw look at life and how sometimes it gets away from us!

I loved this film so much, I thought about it for days afterwards.

!!!!!!!!!

5/5!!! Please watch it!

February Book Club REVIEW! It was OK!

This month I finished reading Zoey Punches the Future in the Dick by David Wong!

It's a very "David Wong" title and was a very "David Wong" book!

While it wasn't my favourite novel by him, it was certainly fine. A solid 3/5 I think. I reaaaallllly loved his previous books in the "John Dies at the End" series. But this one was still OK (and interesting enough for me to finish it!)

lol jack

Our last family dog was Jack, a giant Labradoodle. Last time I was back in Ontario, I raided my mum's computer for old photos and found these (time-stamp included! I don't think she knows how to turn that off of the camera).

Look at that haircut!!! I remember he came home so embarrassed. I know that feeling after a bad haircut.

It was average!

Recently I watched Jungleland and it was OK! Nothing super surprising or different, just an average movie! It follows two bothers in poverty - there's boxing, some organised crime and some stereotypical plot points. 3/5 for me. Maybe 2.5/5.

Has anyone else watched this yet? The poster makes me sad "in select theatres November 6" honey Covid is going to happen, it'll be in zero theatres!
