One of my personal favourite podcasts is Dateline (technically it's a TV show, but I only really listen to the audio version from their podcast.) But did you know about Date with Dateline??
If you like Dateline, please listen to Date with Dateline. It's basically two women who are hilarious and they re-cap Dateline episodes in such a funny way that I'm not really doing it justice. Sometimes I won't even listen/watch the Dateline episode itself, just their recap. So funn...

I re-watched another favourite recently, Se7en! So so so good. So gross, though. But so good. Thankfully Netflix over here added it to their collection so it was an easy choice the other night. Definitely not for the faint of heart (did I say it was gross?) but such a fantastic movie.
I really love David Fincher, god bless that man. Anyone else love David Fincher? I love David Fincher.

Yes. It's true. That's me at 12 in a dive bar in Florida, rocking those braces. Growing up was a very weird (and often hilarious) time.
This was our favourite local bar near our home in Florida - We often went with another family who had a daughter around my age (the other girl in the photo). Yes, my parents bought me to a dive bar when I was growing up...
My Dad thought it would be funny to take our photo with whatever this thing was - a werewolf? Why is it in a dive bar in...

I recently re-watched one of my favourite movies with my Dad - Sicario! So good!!! Awesome!! Fabulous!! And on Netflix!!
I love this film - the acting, music, cinematography, the plot, camera angles, the characters - it's so good. Please watch it if you haven't seen it. If you have seen it, maybe it's time to watch it again.

Recently I listened to the new podcast from the LA Times: It Was Simple - The Betty Broderick Murders!
Going into it, I didn't know the case or the crimes, so it was nice to learn something new (although deeply disturbing).
I'll be honest - I didn't finish the whole thing. It was fine! It's certainly an interesting story if you're into true crime (and a crazy story of a female killer). But for whatever reason, it didn't really hook me.
Anyone have any good true crime podcast...

Wow, June already happened! What is life?
During June I re-read The School of Life: An Emotional Education (you can buy it here) Honestly, I loved it. Not every section was applicable to my life, but overall I found it extremely insightful and interesting! This month I re-read parts that were of particular interest and highlighted sections.
If you have any interest in getting some insight into your ow...

Our house lost internet for 3 days and we could only watch live TV (gasp). Mum saw The Hunted was on so she taped it for us to watch that night. Oh boy. Oh BOY. Considering it has some big names, this movie sucked. Maybe it was passable in 2003 but it certainly did not age well. Mama Mia, what did you put us through??
At least I have plenty of time to watch bad movies while still in quarantine..!

Where are all my Zelda fans at??? Do you guys hate Navi as much as I do??
One of my all-time favourite Spotify playlists is Zelda and Chill - it's a collection of lo-fi versions of Zelda songs and I'm in love. It's super great for when I'm working and I want music but nothing with lyrics that will cause me to sing along.
If you like Zelda (and even if you don't, but you appreciate lo-fi) definitely check it out!

Recently I re-watched Dante's Peak which I haven't seen in ages. It's hilarious!
I know the ratings are terrible (26% and 38%) but I always thought this movie was so much fun. It's incredibly dated and has NOT aged well but I thought it was a great re-watch! It's on Netflix if you're bored!

Gather 'round for a Weird College Story!
So when I moved away for college, I lived in a house off-campus (although it was just a block away from the school). I had 2 other roommates during first-year who both went to the same college, but for some reason our landlord rented out the basement to this random woman. I think he knew her parents or something and she needed a place to stay. Cool. Strange lady in the basement.
I probably only ever saw her twice for the entire year, but sh...

I had seen Here Alone on my Netflix homepage loads of times (plus it had a cool thumbnail) so I gave it a shot without researching it beforehand.
Oof. Yikes. Yawn.
It's a promising story of a zombie epidemic but honestly, it looks like my friends in high school made it. Plus it's so boring. How can a zombie movie be boring?? Somehow, this is.
Anyone else give this a shot? I feel you.

As promised, here's the Ingredients for the best-ever-sort-of-banana-muffins:
- 3 large bananas (we usually use 4)
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
-1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
- 1/3 cup melted butter
Preheat the oven to 375C and cook for 18 minutes! Enjoy!

I finally bit the bullet and bought Animal Crossing for my Switch Lite.
I'm so in love.
I was finding that by the end of the day I was bored and exhausted from working (and the everyday exhaustion of being alive). Animal Crossing is such a nice cute way to spend a few hours in the evening!
I know it really does look like a children's game, but I can't imagine that it would be interesting to anyone even younger than me. My mum asked me what I was doing on the game: "I'm...

I finally got around to watching Hacksaw Ridge and thought it was alright!
You spend the first hour being preached to, and then it's an hour of real gory violence. A bit of both worlds, I guess??
The true story of Desmond Doss is really interesting, I'm just not sure this was my favourite way of showing it... Still worth a watch!

I didn't check the reviews on this one and maybe I should have. A simple look on Rotten Tomatoes shows that the film has a 39% critic rating and 48% audience score.
But I didn't check and I watched it anyway. Yikes.
The idea is interesting but it's so badly made, the acting blows, everyone is annoying and I couldn't pay attention! Don't let the Netflix thumbnail fool you - this movie sucks.

If you catch me on Twitch on Sundays, you probably know that I recently played (and finished) the Last of Us!
It was my first time playing it and all I knew about the game was zombies. And long cut-scenes. But overall, I really enjoyed it! I can totally see why some people (aka a lot of people) didn't like it. There's no creativity to explore or make your own decisions within the story. The game very much tells you what to do and where to go, but sometimes that's nice!
If yo...

So - what did you guys think??
I read James Acaster's book this month (you can buy it here, I totally recommend it) and I really loved it! It's unique in that each chapter is a different hilarious and true story from James' life. I got into the habit of reading a story or two every night before bed and it was such a nice way to wind-down from the day.
Such a funny guy and a very funny life!

Anyone here like comedy podcasts?
I don't listen to the King and the Sting often, but whenever I get around to popping on an episode, I always end up laughing out loud.
This type of humour is not for everyone.
It's quite vulgar and silly and inappropriate and so funny. The two hosts work so well together and the bander is hilarious!

I had heard that First Reformed is really good so I finally got around to watching it (and convinced my mum to watch it with me).

If you love arty movies, I think you'll really enjoy this. It's STRANGE and beautiful - the type of movie that tells a story with the camera angles and movements. Very slow. Very arty.

Ooh, this one I really enjoyed! Not a horror film, but very atmospheric and I really didn't know what way it was going to until it happens! Interesting concept, too, can't say I've seen a similar film.

After we had to put our first dog Sydney to sleep when I was 14, everyone in the family was pretty devastated. I was certain that we would likely never get another dog again... until a year later my Dad saw Jack and within a few days, he was at our house.
Thankfully I had Jack the same time I had a camera, so I took tons of silly photos of him (and will post loads more if you stick around!)
We called him Jack, Jacky, Jack Black, Wolfman Jack or The Gentle Giant. He was big a...

I was getting desperate for a movie so I put 47 Meters Down on... oh my. I had no expectations, so at least I wasn't disappointed! It's a pretty bad movie but it's on Netflix if you're in need of something dumb!
The concept is actually pretty scary but the two sisters won't stop screaming and being annoying that by the end, you're hoping that they don't survive.
