Saturday's video is in the works!

Hey guys!

I went to an event late last night (past my bedtime!) that I want to use for this week's video. I'm currently editing it this morning and it'll be posted today, just later than my usual 10 am.

Thanks so much!!

Best vampire movie!

I loved director Taika Waititi from Jojo Rabbit so I went back and watched What We Do in the Shadows - everyone had been recommending it but I never got around to until now.

So much fun!

You could really see the silly, awkward humour of Flight of the Conchords influence from NZ and I really enjoyed the film!

I also love that Waititi seems to act in so many of his projects - from being one of the main vampires in this to the imaginary Hitler in Jojo Rabbit in addi...

What a beautiful film!!

1917 is beautifully done, the cinematography is incredible and the fact that they make it look like the whole film is done in one take is really genius. Some of the story/acting is negatively impacted because they wanted it in "one shot" but honestly, I don't mind. Great film, especially on the big screen.

Great, quick read!

I was gifted with two copies of My Sister, the Serial Killer (I guess my fam and friends know me too well). It's really good book! I read it in about 3 days - it's very quick, big font and easy to read which is honestly really nice every once in awhile.

A funny and dark look at what we would do for our family. Would you love them even if they were a serial killer?

What I read in 2019

I meant to review the books I read in 2019 on my recent video - oops!

Here's what a read in 2019 with a tiny review. If you want to follow what I've been reading, you can always add me on Goodreads! None of these books were released in 2019, just the ones I happened to read.

Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates

Oof, what ...

Best film of 2019 (I changed my mind!)

Saw Jojo Rabbit in 2020 but honestly, it's the best film of 2019. Has everything a great movie should - made me laugh out loud, made me tear up, made me smile and filled me with sadness. A incredible creative and clever way to tell a story, great acting and my favourite of 2019!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

(pretend it's 2014 as per the doggo glasses and pretend that it's midnight, I didn't want to wake anyone up just in case!)

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope everyone had a great 2019 and an even better 2020 :) Thank you so much for your support this year, I can't tell you how much it means to me!

Want to be a lighthouse keeper?

Wow, what a movie! Definitely not for everyone, but a really interesting and anxious film! I had a real hard time understanding the dialogue and almost wished I had the subtitles on, and I did get bored in a few spots, but overall it's a great movie!

As you've probably heard, the acting is incredible, the score sets the tone perfectly and the shots are beautiful. You don't need to remind me never to be a lighthouse keeper.

Merry Christmas!!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and enjoying Boxing Day!

One of my favourite Christmas traditions is that each year my Dad and I will buy mum a puzzle, which her and I work on starting on Christmas and going until we finish it. Harry Potter is also one of my favourite Christmas/winter films so it's nice to watch that, too (plus snacks, because: obviously)

Unfortunately, this puzzle is HARD and usually I would make mum do the hard bits... We'll have to see if I can fin...

Uhhhhhhh

Do you want an arty film that is very strange? In Fabric is a perfect fit!

This film is literally about a killer dress. That's right. It's like the episode of The Simpsons where Homer gets a hair translate but the hair is evil. Basically the same.

The film really has its own style, very arty, some beautiful shots. The first half I really enjoyed but the second half lost me. If you're courageous, give this one a shot.

A fun murder mystery, anyone?

Of course I was going to see Knives Out - I love a murder mystery! This isn't your classic story, however, which was a little disappointing, but it was still a fun watch. Not fantastic, but certainly worth a watch. Plus - fantastic acting with really interesting characters!

It's good, I promise

You might have seen on Instagram that my top album/artist I played on Spotify this year was the Skyrim soundtrack lol oh my god. How embarrassing.

Actually, I listen to this album a lot when I'm working. It's instrumental, so I don't get distracted with lyrics, it's not too slow but too epic. It's literally the best album I've ever found for working (plus I love the game, so there's that). I've found that a lot of video game/movie albums are a bit too extreme or "epic" which can be dist...

Make sure your snacks are ready!

3.5 hours. That's right. Does this movie really need 3.5 hours? Probably not. But at the same time, none of the film, scenes or conversations ever feel rushed. Everything takes it time and moves exactly how it wants to.

I ended up watching this movie in two parts and it almost felt like 2 separate movies. The first half is fine. Well acted, well directed, good story. One thing I found distracting was that even though many of their faces were de-aged, you could still tell they moved arou...

So good!

Started watching Seven Worlds, One Planet and oh my - I love it. Granted, I love all of the Blue Planet/Planet Earth stuff that David Attenborough does, but SWOP is really good, too.

I've only just watched the first episode on Antartica but will definitely be continuing!! Naturally, they have an episode about North America which would be great if you're looking to learn more about our wildlife (and lots of it!)

Actual pancakes!

My Murder Friends and I went to London this week to see our favourite podcast live! I was so ill!!

It's a tradition to do something in the city each Christmas time (although this year was a bit early) and I couldn't let a cold stop me.

We ended up getting brunch at an American diner the following day - it had been a long time since I had American pancakes!

Crazy to see the news about the attack in London and how we were walking around there just a few days before. I kn...

Fun! Fast! Vroom vroom!

I didn't know the real story behind Le Mans 66 so I had no idea what was going to happen - which was actually really nice!

Interesting story, fabulous driving sequences and an overall really fun film! A solid 3.5/5 for me!

Although there was definitely an old man snoring in the row behind me...

Is he guilty??

The Devil Next Door is definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but I find true crime & history very interesting. This one is certainly hard to watch but I think it's really important to remember the Holocaust, for obvious reasons, and what really happened.

Overall the show has really high production quality, interesting story, but I wonder - is he guilty??

Save me

I probably shouldn't share this but I have sunk a good 30+ hours into the game over the last few days. Why is it so addictive? Why can't I stop?? Can I ever be cured??

It's pretty expensive right now but if you want to check it out, I would recommend waiting for a Stream sale. I loved Rollercoaster/Zoo Tycoon as a kid (and adult) and I think that's why I'm so invested in this game now, too.

I need to film a new video but... I could work on my hospital instead..
