In Alan Cottrill's sculpture studio. Photographer is J. Allen Photography. :) Hey, thanks for being here and sticking around. I have enough photos squirreled away to keep you entertained all Winter long, so don't go anywhere! (And, if I run out... I'll just take more photos of myself! lol)

This is one of my photographs that I edited with the words. It's a reminder to myself, but if it helps you, it can be a reminder to you, too. I think I'm more prone to being quick to anger, impatience, and frustration, rather than quick to give grace and kindness and forgiveness. Giving grace is something I want to learn to do better.
The photo is just a place holder for this post. My main reason for posting is.... I'm working on my Amazon wish list for Christmas gifts and I'm wonderin...

I know we all play with concepts involving props, wardrobe, locations, endless changes; but, honestly, I think one could go years with just a human body muse, lighting, and a camera. See you next month? I hope.

These are the photos I took during the normal course of my daily life and travels (and kept) with my Camp Snap camera. Hope you enjoy looking at them.

Dave L. is always trying to get me to make out with someone at a shoot. As you probably noticed, that's not my thing. But, sometimes I appease him with mannequins and dead skeletons. lol Best I can do. (I almost titled this Fac3 S1tt1ing, but didn't know if it would get flagged.)

A guy once told me that anything is classy if you make it black and white, even a regular dick pic. I ponder that often and wonder if he's right. I'm admittedly not a fan of black and white. I love colors and I love the warmth and softness of skin in color. I think it makes skin appear cold and lifeless in black and white. However, I do think it's valuable in two instances... When the color tones are not right in the original photo and you're trying to save the photo (I had my nightstand ligh...

His touch is like a spark,
That lights up the dark.
It's the way he ignites my soul,
The way he makes me feel whole.
- E. Thompson, author
Photos by Jack Von Linden. I told him I wanted to try some different things. As I was holding up his diffuser to move it, he saw light coming through it and my body and asked me to press myself against it. This is the result.

I love these kinds of photos. I love photos where you don't know what will happen or come out. I used to love that about pottery, too. Or tie dye. Etc. etc.

These were originally taken 4 years ago, I think. He was just starting to learn about lighting and editing and all kinds of photography things at that point. He said he'd always wanted to shoot in Alan Cottrill's Sculpture Studio. Since I was friends with Alan, I said I'd ask. Worst he could say is no. But, Alan is an artist, himself, and a big supporter of other artists, so he said sure. It was pretty chilly this day. I think it was early in the year, maybe March? I posted this shoot right a...

I'm so so happy with these. I can't believe I took them. I like the lighting, angle with the voyeuristic blur on the right hand side, and my expressions. They seem like movie stills to me. Just finally happy with photos that I took of myself.

Are you even a model if you haven't posed with a guitar once or twice in your career? :)

Just Sriracha making shapes in a window. And, the end of my shoot with her. On to something else. She's great if you get a chance to work with her. (I'm the photographer on these.)

I was holding a plastic disc up to my camera lens and I told her just to move around and make shapes in the window. Srirachaxoxxo is the model. I'm the photographer. Shot at The Brick Loft in Wooster.

These two were taken basically after the shoot was over (and are the last photos I have to post from this shoot). He saw the red on my main studio house door and asked me to pose like this. The second one he noticed my car was red (remember he only likes red, yellow, blue lol) and wanted to shoot through my car window as I was changing out of his red dress and into my clothes.

This was towards the end of our shoot. I asked her to put on blue eyeshadow really poorly and bright lipstick and smear it over her mouth area. Then I asked her to hold the flashlight again and to make whatever faces she wanted. Towards the end I asked her to make the faces more sensual in nature and the last 5 or so are dynamite and what I was going for, but sometimes you don't know until you shoot/see some other stuff as you go through the process.
Model is Srirachaxoxxo. Photographe...

I'm sharing all of these for the giggles aspect. Look at my face trying to figure out how to pose with a skeleton when asked to pose with said skeleton. I think I worked it out in the last one, but the others crack me up. Photographer is Dave Levingston. This is in the barn at Proparazzi. In case you have not heard, the owner is having some family things going on and the outdoor areas are not currently available for shoots. See her post on Facebook if you want full details.
