Lamp Light Behind

So, I realize I don't post a lot of my butt and that's because it's hard to take pics of your own butt (and because well the name of this page is not butts and giggles, hehe). So I took some last night with just the light of my nightstand lamp. Not that artistic and more documentary in nature, but still hope you enjoy. Yep, still got some bug bite marks fading.

So, if you remember a while back he said he wanted to shoot with me, not for his style of photography, but for mine. I guess that meant Polaroids or instant photos as well as weirdness. So, this plan and set up and concept is credit to Dave Rudin. But, these peel apart and instax mini photos were taken by Dave Levingston while Dave Rudin was shooting me. So, copyright on these is Dave Levingston, but concept copyright is Dave Rudin. Hope that makes sense. :) Just want to give credit where credit is due. And, my shoot with Matt Giordano got postponed til September 7 since it's gonna rain on Wednesday.

Expired Peel Apart Film with Dave Levingston

End of July shoot when he and Dave Rudin came to visit. The first shot is a test shot and it went okay, but then the camera jammed and he had to clean it with q-tips and alcohol including all the rollers in it, because the film was jamming and not coming out when he pulled. It's hard to get the manual exposure right on these kinds of things, but I like all of them for various reasons. All the film for this is expired anymore because they no longer make it. Self portraits. This set was incredibly hard to do, because I had the set up in such a small space and I had to carefully insinuate and extricate myself to push the 10 second delay trigger each time. As it seems with most things I do like this, I feel like I almost should have just stopped the first time/shot, because it might be the best or the one I like the best.

Old Squash, Lace, and Mirror Self Portraits

I was about to throw this variegated acorn squash out, because I didn't eat it, and I thought it was so pretty. It's supposed to be striped green and white, so that it changed colors into a pumpkin color means it's really old. Only good for seeds, not eating. I suppose there's some fertility/lack of fertility old womb symbolism here, but I'm not generally very good at that in my art. It's more a texture, color, play, experimentation thing. Romantic Botanical Self Portraits

I took these in July in my studio. I had to keep running back and looking at them in the camera and adjusting my pose and such. 10 second delay. I've very happy with the last four.
