Chapter 49

Law PoV

Training under Black Canary for a few weeks had been a pretty positive experience. It’s not like I suddenly got much stronger or anything crazy like that, but I definitely got a bit more knowledge when it came to hand to hand fighting. I also greatly appreciated the small vacation from the Tower.

Nothing wrong with the Titans, but it was nice to get away from them now and again. It was also good to see that the news was starting to blow over as well. As ...

Zatanna Zatara PoV

It was great to actually be able to walk around once again. Being grounded for months meant there wasn’t much for me to actually be able to do, besides reading books and studying magic.

I don’t know why daddy has to be so difficult. I was old enough to look after myself in public. I didn’t need him to escort me like I was some sort of kid who would get lost. I mean, I have magic for Pete’s sake.  A badass witch, just like my mother ...

Chapter 47

A bit of a vacation from Titans tower was nice. I enjoyed waking up and not being interrupted by a naked Beast Boy sitting in the sink. Or being pestered by Galatea into being a punching bag.

I may not be advancing my studies or experiments, but I was definitely making great strides in my progress of learning how to fight. Black Canary was a good teacher. And an even better one when she was frustrated about having her…’mission’ with Green Arrow interrupted.

I wasn’t inform...

Chapter 46

According to Green Arrow, the guy we were after was an assassin known as the Black Spider. His most well known method of killing people was pulling them out of the top level of their house, and letting them fall to their deaths.

It was pretty gruesome.

These jobs are organized by an organization of assassins who aren’t very well known. And are well known for silencing anyone speaking out about them, or silencing those who they are commissioned to.

The situation currently w...

Chapter 45

The reporters were nothing if not persistent. It took Black Canary about twenty minutes of speeding and off-roading to get them off our tail. As well as finally getting out of the city limits.

Not that I was complaining. I could think of worse scenarios than sitting closely behind Black Canary with my arms around her. There wasn’t much to say during the ride. Or perhaps I should say there wasn’t much that could be said when you were going about 140 on the highway.

I got the distinct feeling that this interview was getting further from the original intent. Wherever it was trying to go now…well, who could really say. Though it definitely felt like it wasn’t going in a direction that would benefit me.

And if that was the case…then I didn’t plan on sticking around for very long.

There were a lot of unknown variables in this scenario. Too many for me to be comfortable with. Firstly, how did Lex Luthor know that I was the creator? If I ha...

I didn’t think streets could get any cleaner after Jump City. I was proven wrong after being flown to Metropolis. If Gotham was a well-used pan covered in soot, then Jump City was one that had just been washed. Metropolis on the other hand was fresh off the conveyer belt.

Most people would feel some sort of relief at the sight. But it just made me feel uneasy. Like I was out of my element. So, this was the Man of Steel’s city huh?

It definitely seemed to live up to its reputat...

It’s taken quite awhile for me to really organize my lab equipment and inventory. See, I never really had a super organized list that said what everything did or what it was all used for. That kind of stuff I just remembered. With labels being occasionally used to help jog my memory.

But…that wasn’t really cutting it now. Not only did I have much more equipment, but I also had so many more projects that were being worked on. Projects that needed time...

It didn’t take much time to get picked up, and have Beast Boy checked in to an actual hospital. Which wasn’t really even necessary, as they released him pretty quickly. Seems the tree sap did the trick on him.

Despite the hospital staff not really needing to do much, they still decided to charge us through the nose for their services. At first, I had thought they had been joking, before realizing how much of a racket this place was. So, I decided to pass the bill onto the Justice Le...

Chapter 40

Robin hit a breakthrough in the Man-Bat case. He had reason to believe the mastermind of this whole operation was some recently retired military vet. Apparently, he was in charge of a project for the government in order to investigate Langstrom’s formula for military use.

Which lead to pretty much all of the Titans mobilizing and showing up to this guy’s house, sans one. Kid Flash got the shortest straw, which meant he needed to be the one to stay behind and protect the Tower.

Adriatisin. That’s what the Justice League had came up with for the name of the medicine I had created. It had been announced and distributed to the public a short while ago. It was a bit of a…controversial introduction in the United States.

Well, I say controversial but the truth was that most people saw this as a very good thing. The people who didn’t were in the minority. But that minority was vocal.

While people were happy about the medicine that would end ‘hearing pro...

It didn’t take me long to realize the greatness that was Venom. Despite barely showing physically, it made me stronger and faster. And that was even without running it through my veins. But when I did so?

The increase in power was…staggering.

So much so that I did what anyone with new found super strength would do. I tested it out. First, it was the weights of the other Titan members. Aqualad and Robin were some of the first I could think of. Lifting their dumbbells was so eas...

I’ve decided that I didn’t really like Martian Manhunter very much. I didn’t care that he was an alien. I didn’t care that he was standoffish. I didn’t even care that he could read my mind.

None of these things were enough for me to dislike someone on principle. No, the reason I disliked him was far simpler.

He treated me like a complete idiot.

Perhaps it was due to knowing the lack of real schooling that I’ve received in my life, or perhaps he had another reason...

After the revelation with Cho, I started to use my observe skill on various people who’ve I already scanned. Revealing to me that other people had been given different titles.

And strangely enough, it was people who seemed to interact with me more than not. For example, Cho. She was a roommate, and she also went to various classes with me.

But not all people who interacted with me constantly were given a title. Such as Tim, who interacted with me more than anyone else at Hogwart...

The Martians were…a strange bunch. I wasn’t sure if the rest of their race was anything like them, but they were the only representatives I could base anything off of. It was similar to Starfire and Blackfire, actually.

However, their personalities couldn’t be more different.

Martian Manhunter was a very serious man. Any emotion he was feeling was very rarely shown on his face. He just didn’t seem to emote at all. Whereas his niece, who I’ve come to know as Miss Martian,...

It was odd, wasn’t it? To have no windows? Sure, I haven’t explored the place, I only went into a few rooms and hallways but, even so…

But let’s say there wasn’t any windows at all for a moment. It wouldn’t be too strange for a secret base. Especially one that was supposed to protect the Justice League. Both the Titans Tower and the Hall of Justice have windows, but they were also not exactly hidden.

However, I couldn’t help but recall a certain conversation a few mo...

Chapter 34

Breakfast in the Titans Tower was a sacred time. We all intrinsically understood how important that brief moment of waking up was. That thirty minutes of grogginess that needs to be carefully walked through in order to awaken naturally.

This process could be sped up occasionally with coffee, but not immediately eradicated. Personally, I never thought myself as a coffee person, but after Robin bought some overpriced coffee maker, I’ve been a changed man.

But in those moments befo...

The moment I blinked awake, I realized I was sitting in a chair. A fact that had alarm bells sounding off in my head. Despite being a light sleeper, I couldn’t fall asleep sitting up. Laying on my side or back was a requirement.

So that was already a red flag. The second red flag was the room that I was in. Some sort of…circular room with stone walls that seemed like they were from medieval times. A castle maybe?

The third red flag was the fact that I couldn’t move my limbs....

Making a cure to the Man-Bat plague that was going around the city had dealt a pretty good blow to whoever was behind it. But even still, it only meant dealing with the creatures was much easier and safer. Whatever method they were using to distribute and test on people only continued to grow.

To the point where a section of Jump City had to be cordoned off due to the number of Man-Bats that were located within it. A few of the Titans and myself of course were dispatched to the area. View Post

??? ?????? ?? ??? ????? PoV

What is the meaning of life?

This is a question that has bothered countless as they tried to find meaning. Whether it be for themselves, or the universe in general. It has stumped the foolish, and even the greatest of minds.

But I believe I know the answer.

It was deceptively simple, but then again perhaps not every question needs a complicated solution. Sometimes things are the way they are not because of any sort of deeper...

All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely actors.

Despite being an orphan with a pretty substantial lack in any real schooling, I at least knew one of the most well-known quotes of Shakespeare. It was an important quote. It helped remind me that everyone had a role to play. A role determined by someone else.

For example, Robin’s role to play was to be the leader of the Titans. A role given to him by the Justice League. I was to be...

I had slipped up. It was obvious to me now that I look back on my actions of which was the correct one to take. The truth was my emotions had gotten the better of me. Nothing that’s really surprising considering I’m a Tamaranean, but even still, it was a flaw.

A flaw that my enemies had exploited and used against me.

Perhaps the real mistake had been attempting to infiltrate the Titans. Maybe if this had been different, or maybe if that had...

I always made sure to keep an eye out on Gotham news for obvious reasons, but I occasionally glanced at a few news channels that had random shit on it. It had been relatively peaceful around the Titans tower recently. Well, as peaceful as a bunch of people getting paid to beat the shit out of criminals could really be. Criminals were still being trashed and thrashed, but it was only small fry. Nothing big had really happened in the background.

Getting chewed out by Zatara was an…odd experience. I wasn’t really sure of how to categorize the experience. He was demanding, loud, and honestly really obnoxious.

Which is pretty much exactly what I said to his face. Much to the horror of Zatanna and the surprise of the Titans. I was prepared for a variety of responses, ranging from him trying to throw a punch at my face, to him backing off. Instead, he wheeled around and started to yell at me to my face.

I had expected differences in the bodies of Tamaraneans from humans. Even having predicted possible different sexual organs. Or at least ones that were accustomed to a different environment.

What I hadn’t expected was that the skin of Tamaraneans to actually taste good. Or at least much more pleasing than it would be to lick a normal human. Starfire tasted sweet. The closest thing I could compare it to would be honey. But even that wasn’t exactly an apt comparison. It was more like ...

After getting my fucking ass destroyed by Blackfire, I made a solemn vow. To never, ever pick a fight with a female Tamaranean. They were quite clearly much stronger than they appeared. Something that was taught to me by both Blackfire, and Starfire.

Even if it wasn’t for that event, I would still consider Starfire to be one of the strongest hitters on the Titans. But because of it, I was pretty sure she might just be the strongest on the team period. View Post

I talked out loud in excitement as I set up the tripod with my phone on it. Giving it a good look at the hallway with the booby trap in it. Heh, this was going to be sick!

Turning back to the phone that was recording, I made sure I was in shot before speaking.
