“That’s right, get it all out…” I reassuringly whispered to Hestia, holding her hair back as she puked her guts up in an alleyway. Rubbing small soothing circles on her back, coaxing up another wave of vomit and unlike in anime, Hestia sure wasn’t puking up rainbows. Grimacing, I turned to the others in the Alley, Riveria doing the same as me to Loki, who puked in unison with Hestia.
“I’m...I’m never drinking again,” Hestia moaned right before she puked again. Sh...

Orario had a bustling nightlife, it seemed as Hestia and I walked through the streets. The magic stone lamps were on, a crescent moon hanging overhead, countless stars twinkling in the sky. As a city boy, born and raised, that was taking some getting used to. I never knew just how many stars were hidden by the light given off from the city that never sleeps.
There were almost as many stars as there were people milling about through the busy streets as we stepped onto the entertain...

Trust is something that must be earned, or else it cannot be called trust. If a soldier being lead into war by a commander that he did not trust, they would hesitate. If they obeyed, it was because of duty, or fear of the consequences. They wouldn’t know if the commander had lead them into their deaths or not. They would fear, and that fear would dull the senses, that fear of death would ironically cause their own deaths.
A soldier following the orders of a commander that they t...

“Hey,” I whisper lamely, trying to shake Padawan awake. With JR-1 shining his flashlight in her face, I saw that her eyes butterflied open, trying to return to the land of consciousness, but not quite managing it. I shook her harder, unsure what else to do because I knew what this was. When I expended the unseen mana bar back when I first experimented with the Force, when I pushed myself to my limits, I collapsed a lot like this.
The only issue was, I didn’t know how to snap...

I flinched at the sound of Padawan’s beam sword being ignited, casting the dark, looming shadows a light blue. Whipping around on her, half expecting to see her beam sword on a collision course with my neck, only to find that she was holding it above her head. She caught my look and offered a gentle smile, probably having no idea that I just assumed that she was about to murder me.
“Do you know which way to get out of the city?” She asked as we were...

“Planetary elite squad, assault these coordinates. All of them are high-value targets, so don’t leave anything left of them. Be sure to save some fun for the rest of us,” Queen Teach spoke in my ear as the fleet was ripped apart all around us. I saw a scrolling text on my scouter that highlighted several positions on the planet when I looked down on it. Using the coordinates to cross-reference the info I had downloaded into my scouter, I noted that most of them were factories while one ...

“Is it done yet?” I asked, looking over at a technician with a pair of smaller arms attached to his regular-sized arms. In the smaller pair of hands were a pair of tools that I didn’t know the name of. What I did know was when it pressed the tools to the scouter that laid on a table in front of it, sparks flew while whisps of smoke drifted upwards.
“Juuuuust…” the technician started to say, turning its gaze to a hologram that had all kinds of bars and jagged lines. The...

The minotaur hit me like a linebacker, nearly folding me in half and it would have if it weren’t for my sword absorbing the bulk of the blow. Even still, it slammed into me hard enough that the harsh sound of metal on metal rang out as its horns made contact with my armor.
For the briefest seconds, I thought it might hold. Minotaur or not, my armor was solid steel. And I meant solid, but that hope lasted right up until I felt a burning pain in my stomach where its h...

There seems to be some kind of issue with the site with selecting tiers and pressing the early access buttons. I've messaged the help center, so hopefully, the issue will be resolved soon, but to make sure my supporters receive their rewards, I've messaged the next chapter of Power Corrupts to their corresponding tier.
But, I know that the message function on this site is also finicky, so please let me know if you didn't receive the chapter. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved ...

It was good to be on the ground again. JR-1, or Jury Rig-1, resided underneath my cloak, hidden from any wandering greedy hands. My gaze swept over the comers and goers, nearly all of them stopping to look my way. It was rare that someone went up the elevator, but it was far rarer that someone came down.
Striding forward, I pointedly made eye contact with everyone that looked at me. Most looked away as soon as I caught them looking, but a few didn’t. It seemed I had...

I made a strategic retreat from the command deck after learning how long it was going to take to reach our destination. This fleet used a different kind of FTL, something about ripping a hole in the space-time continuum, so the Reach’s typical means of delaying an invasion wouldn’t work. Still, apparently ripping holes in the space-time continuum was a bad thing, so to punish us it would take an entire week to get to Rench. But, somehow, at the same time, it would only take l...

Trama is something that is purely subjective. What could traumatize person A could leave person B completely unaffected -- there was no person in this galaxy that had the same exact values, fears, expectations, and desires. Despite the population, no matter their species, they tend to follow the flow like sheep, everyone was unique in their own way. The reaction to trauma, and what caused trama, was one of those things that made each person distinct.

The cities of Cadinth were dead. There was once an ancient race that had lived here, but they were gone long before other races had settled in their ruins. The buildings, despite how poorly they aged over thousands of years, they still held a futuristic look to them. They stretched high into the sky, the gray metal having long since dyed black, the glass windows were coated in dust.
Closer to the ground was far more colorful almost in spite of the black sand that got everywhere. V...

"I agree wholeheartedly, Lord Frieza!" Captain Ginyu exclaimed, but his voice was distant even as it rang out in my ear. I couldn't tear my eyes away from the awe-inspiring display of power. Planet Sereall drifted apart, neatly cut in half as what remained of the defensive fleet struggled to recover from what just happened. I couldn't blame them -- I couldn't imagine how they were feeling after getting hit like that out of nowhere.
"But there's so much left," Lord Fri...
