Artober Day 6 : Kitten!
Used the dip pen today, drew a fuzzy kitten. I needed something cute today.
$50 if anybody wants it before it gets over to FA in a few hours.

Felt like doing a pin up today. I took the pose from a William Medcalf pin up painting. I have conflicting views about those pieces, but I still find them to be super appealing. I've really enjoyed the shift in nudes in art from voyeuristic, with the subject seeming unaware of the observer, to the direct gaze in more openly erotic work. I like the agency that it implies.
Anyway, did this with one of my favorite pens ever, the Zig Writer, an archival quality pen that doe...

I wanted to play with textures, so I pulled out the brush and dip pen and went to town on drawing squiggly tree bark. This is my favorite time of year, and the weather here was particularly nice today.
$50 if anybody wants it!

There's nothing super deep here as to why I did this piece. When I woke up this morning, I saw that someone had used 'Lonely' for their Artober day 3 piece, and figured I could do that too!
Rather than use dip pens for this one, I used a brush pen and some pigma microns, because, for whatever reason, those things have always intimidated me. They seemed needlessly expensive, etc. So I owned several but was always hesitant to use them for more than just touch-ups on nearly completed piece...

For today I wanted to work on my brush work, so this one's entirely done with ink and brush instead of using a pen for any of it.
Just like last time, $50 if anybody wants it!

I wanted to do Inktober this year, since moving hundreds of miles kind of got in the way of that, last year. But Inktober's got some controversy around it this year, so I'm not going to use that title or hashtag. Instead, I'm just gonna do my own thing, in ink, and post it up.
This one's a redo of a 2014 piece I had buried in my scraps on FurAffinity. Just a rat gal at the bar.
I'll part with her for $50, if anyone wants her. I'll be posting it up on FA later, and...

Another Lindsey. I've been struggling with art a bit lately, so I figured I'd go back to something comfortably in my wheelhouse: Lindsey in the buff.
I did this with a Zig Writer on sketchbook paper

Clip Studio Paint was on sale this weekend, so I picked it up. So far it's a bit confusing, since the layout is so different from Sketchbook, which I've used for a decade now, but I think I'll like it once I adjust!
The sketch of Jua was done entirely with the designer pencil, just to see how it would perform. I hope to eventually try some it's comic making tools, once I'm past Sunshine.

Another 'Guardians' piece, inspired by one of my main characters from back when I played City of Heroes. He's the heroic counter-point to Noble.

I desperately want to make toys. It's an obsession of mine, and has been for ages.
The weird little frog is sculpted in Magic Sculpt, a two part epoxy. Since it cures on its own, it's super useful, but I'm not used to it's feel yet, so it's a struggle. All of the others are made from Super Sculpey and Super Sculpey Firm.
The griffon chick is going to be a one-off, but I'm going to try molding and casting the others.
Been mucking about with pencil between my commissions, which have taken up more time than I expected.
Ivy's the gal in the doorframe. I did it in a Mixed Media book from Canson.
The trio of ladies was done in a Strathmore sketch book. The paper's way thinner, which lead to some problems with the shading/etc, but here we are, anyway!

Finished the bunny gal! Done in sketchbook, etc. etc. etc.

Been doing paid work lately, but I try to warm up on something I'm not paid for before I get into working on someone else's stuff, else I just ruin it, so I've done a pair of NSFW furry gals, since I've not been doing much of that lately, and I know it's what most people like from me.
It's my intention to finish them both, but for now, they're just sketches drawn in sketchbook!

Another piece for the MTG token set. I'll get them printed up soon. Gotta design a cardback for them. Anyway, giant bear.

Foxy gal squatting outside her barn/shed. When I started the sketch, my plan was to leave the background blank, but as I progressed, I started feeling like she'd be somewhere rural and outdoors, and I eventually couldn't ignore that.

I've struggled with the question of what to do about a fursona for ages. I never really felt the need for one, and the 'rules' about making them are super fuzzy to me, so I always was concerned I'd 'do it wrong' somehow, but I'm finally over all that.
I'm reusing the name Gruff from the goat in my Guardians of the Cosmos thing, and going with the most graceful and elegant of all creatures, the pygmy goat.
Sorry for the back-to-back posts, but I didn't think the two pieces worked t...

I could not resist naming this guy 'Haywire' when I came up with him. The idea was that Gruff and Lightfire worked together to build a robot at some point to help the team.
The temptation to base him off of the Masters of the Universe character, Roboto, was very very real, but instead I looked to another 80s property for stylistic inspiration, and ended up borrowing elements from Shockwave, from the Transformers, as well as the mane and tail being somewhat based off of my favorite robot...

This character has a lot of history for me, I created him in City of Heroes in 2005, as a role play character. And he quickly became my main character. With my comic being set in a more grounded universe, I really couldn't use him, and given that he's a super villain, I couldn't really even use a modified form of him. So, when I started the whole Guardians of the Cosmos set of characters, I decided to slot him in.
The original sketch for this piece was a left-over from when I was ...

When I was glancing through the MTG token card names, 'Ape' kinda jumped out at me. This one weirdly just fell together. I only did one sketch for it, as I had the scene in mind, immediately upon seeing the name. This one's gonna be a card too!

Trying to get back into the swing of everything with some standbys. That first one is Lindsey, and the other is an unnamed husky gal.

Art's going super slow lately. Not sure what's up with me and this stuff. I did hurt my hand, which I can use as a bit of an excuse, but i don't know what's got me slowed down so much lately. Anyway, here's a NSFW Retriever, as I try to cycle back into productivity!

I totally forgot to upload this. I finished it a while back, then wanted to sit on it a day or two to see if I liked it, or if it needed touch ups...then forgot. So here it is! Another one of those fantasy pieces!

I was working a bit traditional lately, and decided to a couple of personal pieces while doing the work stuff. The first one's of Lindsey, done in Copics and the other is a sphynx cat in india ink.

Another fantasy piece. This one's a weird mermaid. Underwater stuff isn't my normal but I have a love of sea monsters. Gill-Man, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, is my favorite of the old movie monsters, and Mer-Man was my favorite Masters of the Universe figure.

Here's a couple more NSFW ink drawings. The sheep in wool leggings is to compliment the three I posted earlier, another gal, another body-type, and attitude. The bathroom shot was just a random thing I worked on last night.
Bathroom gal was drawn with a Zig Writer, and the ewe was drawn with a bimoji brushpen.

Another sci-fi piece! Claxx, the insect soldier. When I'm working on these pieces, I'm constantly thinking about what would be required to make an action figure of it, and what species I should use, etc. There's some constraints that I impose on myself to make the fake series 'believable' in the world of Sunshine, as it's supposed to be a series that Jua's a fan of.
The reason this villain isn't a mammal is because all of the people in Jua's world are mammals. There's no birds, bu...

More fantasy work! They both took longer than they should have, but they're done now! They'll be MtG tokens, eventually, like the other fantasy pieces. I'm wanting to get several done before I lay out the cards and get them printed.

I apologize for the horrid pun name, but I swear it came after the initial sketch! I wanted another villain for the Guardians of the Cosmos thing, and went with a mummy themed character. I didn't want a ton of Egyptian imagery in him, though, and I wanted a species that would be 'fake' in the world of Sunshine. Since only real world mammals are 'people' in that world, avian creatures and reptiles were fair game. Initially I thought just a 'lizard' because dragons already have representation (...

I drew these three gals with my Bimoji brush pen, I wanted a different 'mood' for each piece, and I wanted to get back into what you all follow me for! I may do more in this 'set' just ink pin ups of furry gals of different stripes/lifestyles.
I've spent the last couple of weeks pretty under the weather. I won't say I had Covid-19, because I didn't get tested, but I did have some of the symptoms, and was generally feeling miserable. Regardless, I'm back on my feet now, and feeling a ton...
