This set involves some new materials that you all may be able to see immediately. I picked up a set of acrylic brush pens that let me lay down opaque color, instead of transparent like the copic inks do. It's a different experience, and has it's own challenges, but it lets me work lighter colors over a darker base easier than the colored pencils do. I'm trying to use that with a light touch for now, but it opens some interesting doors.

Finally getting to the scanning! Thanksgiving snuck up on me, this year! Here's a bunch of monochrome things I did this month. I've been playing with some new papers and techniques and materials, lately. For the monochrome pieces, the only real change is that I learned a trick for adding in a little more to the shadows via a prismacolor black colored pencil, along with the graphite pencil to just make the shadows/black areas a bit richer. Happy Halloween! Did several pieces on colored/gray/textured paper this time. I've been having a lot of fun with that, letting the non-white of the paper lend to the overall piece. I didn't realize until scanning that I'd done nine. October's rocky for me, generally, so I was afraid I wasn't getting as much done.

Also, I looked through my older stuff, and I don't think I ever used my Judy Hopps figure for it, so here she is! She's my most expressive figure, by far, since she has moveable eyes and replaceable face plates.

Eight more pieces! These are a range of different media and what-not.
The first piece is watercolor and colored pencil. I intended to do more, but got sidetracked on a different experiment that I really enjoyed.

Decided to try something new, and cracked out my watercolors this month. I've had a nice expensive set for a long time, but they intimidate me, so I rarely use them. I realized that since I'm getting more comfortable with my colored pencils, I should try combining them, and see how it turned out. These two pieces are the results!
