1 - They give me a visual reference and help me anchor story beats to the transformation. By making these renders, I can see the character at different points in their transformation, which helps when I then go and write a story around that tf, which is my usual method;

How's the weather down there, Joe?
Bullshit aside, now that the premise of the comic is starting to show, I think it's fair to acknowledge its main inspiration: the Pick your Poison series by Sitriabyss. The first issue was one of the comics that got me into the community and I think Sitri's influence is pretty much all over my comics (past, present, and future).
