Fightful's Joel Pearl and Jeremy Lambert spoke to Chris Weaver, the director of Netflix's WWE Unreal.
Weaver said that he was very fresh to pro wrestling and storylines when starting this project, but had someone with him that was very familiar. There has been a hold up with constructing the WWE Summerslam set.
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp mentioned there were a lot of travel delays and cancelations due to weather in the New York/New Jersey area. That has stretched to the construction of the Summerslam set as well. There were flood warnings in the early afternoon of July 31, and then by 2:15 PM ET, everyone was brought off of the field of MetLife, and a shelter was put in place.

WWE's tryouts will have an element visible to the public. They've done this before -- specifically with Las Vegas Summerslam a few years back, and the Arnold Sports Festival.
Omos and Michin are in Dallas doing Summerslam watch parties at COSM.
A number of talent have already been in the NY/NJ area since early this week. There were several top talent who were promoting WWE Unreal locally.

Lena Kross appeared during the TNA tapings on July 24th, sparking speculation on her possibly signing with the company.
Fightful Select's Corey Brennan heard earlier this year that steps were being taken to get Lena Kross signed with TNA. WWE has tryouts this week, and things are being kept fairly quiet about participants.
Fightful Select has learned of a few names, with only one being solidly confirmed within WWE. Last week, when Fightful reported that Leyla Hirsch had a tryout as a referee, one WWE source joked "I thought we met our short quota by bringing in Big Trouble Ben Bishop for a tryout next week."

SummerSlam starts on Saturday.
Let's hope Drew McIntyre makes it back to the states in time, otherwise that terrible celebrity tag match is gonna get even worse, because they might put the Miz in it.

Happy Gilmore released this week, and features a few familiar faces.
MJF, Becky Lynch, and Nikki Bella were all featured in the film but there could have been another prominent wrestler.

This one, a recent return to the Knockouts division.
Killer Kelly recently made her comeback to the division following maternity leave. In Spring of 2024, there were rumors that she quickly corrected to Fightful that she'd finished up with the company because an internal document said "Killer Kelly is gone." Fightful Select spoke to New Japan Pro Wrestling sources who admitted the situation was touch and go as the tournament started, and they weren't initially sure how things would go.
