Still waiting on DHL but Marc has been processing all the nozzles I sent his lab. Wanted to share the worst of the worst nozzles.
Not only is it off round it's so poorly machined and coated that it looks like a dangerous mountain range.
We will be processing all the info as it comes in but we've already crowned the losers of the machining quality tests. 😅

Today between noon and 6pm DHL will be dropping off over 50lbs of product from Prusa to my doorstep.
It was supposed to happen yesterday but DHL decided to place the boxes on the wrong truck so I'll be scrambling today to get an SL1 and CW1 built and ready for testing because tonight is date night.
None of the beta testers have media blackouts but we aren't allowed to post about any bugs as our job is to report those to prusa as we find them and be ready for quick firmware tweak...

I have a roll of this Paramount Flex PLA that I've been wanting to try but just haven't. Now with the votes in I know what I must do.
If you're international rigid ink in the UK carries some and so does 3D Fillies in Australia.
The benefit is it prints at PLA temps which makes it a wonderful candidate for multicolor and multi material prints.
In a close second was ABS so I guess I'll be trying ABS. I'll send a vote for the higher tier patrons to choose a brand or ...
2019-03-19 05:06:42 +0000 UTC View PostHello patrons!!!! I have some sad news that for the time being I'm locking all posts to patrons only until a certain person stops spamming the Patreon page.
If you haven't heard of the infamous Eric Clinedinst then you will now.
Long ago he began a tirade against Prusa and Josef for all the issues he magically had for the MK3. It was pretty brutal as he rallied many members to his cause based on a...
If you haven't seen the new newest version of Slic3r PE has finally come out of Alpha. It's been a very stable testing phase since about alpha 3 but it still held me from making videos as changes could happen at any time during an alpha build.
I definitely have time this week to make a bunch of Slic3r videos so help decide which ones happen and in what order.
As always you can select more than one option.

Since I already had the roll of CF PETG in the printer I also ran the extruder and carriage with it. Having one stock MK3s is pretty sweet and an excuse to finish testing the profile. Still has very minor cob webs but the prints feel exceptionally study so I'm going to leave it.

The grand prize of a full MK3s printer parts set in Atomic CF PETG is yours. Thank you to everyone who said they wanted it and don't dispair I'll have stacks of other prints to give out as I test materials.
Until then stay tuned for the next print giveaway thing.

It's not much but it'll keep me busy for a minute or two. Really excited about the cartridge as I've yet to try a non e3d cartridge and I hear good things about this one.

Finally had a quick moment to swap bearings. It took a quick bit of work to align the vesconite bushings but once aligned they make a major change to the audible nature of the y axis movement.
My first test here shows 0% change in print quality. Nothing better nothing worse.
Stock MK3s with obvious 602 and white filament which always prints a little worse. Downward light applied to enhance the errors.

Last piece came off the printer today. Between 3 printers and 3 different materials we have success.

I've printed mine out in Atomic CF PETG, Atomic Gold PLA, and Filamentone Silver Glint.

Decided I'd make my stock MK3 a little sexier by going over to some Proto Pasta Tom's Orange HTPLA. Besides failing twice due to bad warping from the build plate I've almost got this profile ready.
Guess I have to buy some of that Magigoo. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Feel free to give the beta profile I attached if you desire. You may need to adjust retraction to 0.9mm as I still get very fine wisps but other than that it's printing some really strong parts.
Wow... just wow. I can't say thank you enough but hopefully this little token will help a little. Here is the one of a kind STL of me I commissioned from Vedran which includes nearly all of my huggable goodness but in pocket form.
Feel free to use this as a nifty test object for filament samples or as something to yell at when your printer does something it wasn't supposed to. I printed this one in the Al...

My favorite way of testing a hardened type nozzle is print something practical which tend to be new parts for my printers. I woke up today to another successful full bed of beautiful CF prints. Someone is going to be a very luckily Patron cause wow these are pretty!
2019-03-14 14:18:13 +0000 UTC View PostWe've reached the 50 patron goal so I'd like to share with everyone what I have sitting on my desk to work on and decide which project to make a video on.
Here goes:
1. Antonio's silent stepper breakout board for the MK2s/2.5
2. Vesconite/Igus bushings
3. MK2.5 Einsy Retro firmware
4. Anycubic Kossel Linear Plus Duet Mod

I can't really use these since I'm keeping my MK3 stock as can be and orange looking for YouTube videos. Would anyone be interested in the full set of parts?
That's right. MK3s X, Y, Z, LCD, Extruder, and Einsy box in Atomic CF PETG.
Comment below to be entered into the random drawing I'll be doing sometime on Saturday March 16th 2019.

2019-03-12 20:40:56 +0000 UTC View PostI bet you are wondering what's all going on here and why.
As you know I post a ton on the Prusa Community facebook about things I'm testing, printing, doing. I've had people bug me forever to put up a Patreon page or accept some sort of monetary compensation for what I do.
ehhh... that was the hard part. What can I offer for money that I won't end up hurting the community in the long run? I don't want to make secret profiles or secret tests or secret prints. ...
