Working on my larger scale enviro design, and had an idea involving a crashed ship and survival. Something about sharing body heat was in there, too, but I didin't flesh the idea out beyond that. He has a set of not quite Pearly Whites. And I think they came out pretty good considering how much I was dreading doing it. It wasn't so bad, I'll be honest. But Teeth and Gums aren't things I do a lot after the model is as finished as the Elite and Skirm.

As fun as it is to make separate links for each and every model set, It's also a little tedious. So I've decided to start linking the folder itself, rather than each file individually. Plus if I need to update a model or add something, I can simply replace the file in the Folder, rather than relinking. Which is small, but less work means I'm more likely to get it done sooner.

I have a few more ideas that I want to implement with these suits, but I need to figure out the best way to make them happen.
The Sangheili took all day yesterday to do, and the Skirm took like 15 minutes today. Everything was already set up which really sped things along. I'll be sure to also add the Techsuit Substance files to the folder once I get around to it.

The boys are back in town. I need to figure out a more daytime kind of place to render in. Also, I'll be uploading an update to these two pretty soon.
Some rig and weight fixes, mostly. But also some corrective shape keys. So it's a pretty big update. Really does fix a lot of the issues I noticed while making these poses.
Also feel free to request stuff with them if you want. This is open to everyone, so if you have an idea of a pose you want to see let me know.

I'm surpriesed at how not terrible rigging is as an experience. That's right, I am going to start moving away from Auto rigging software for my models. The Sangheili and Skirmisher mark my first (High-ish Quality) custom rigs!

They strut their stuff, as they should.
Finally got the Skirm all textured up, I did touch up the Sang's textures a little bit after I had finished the Skirm, since I had some new ideas on what to do and how to do it. So he looks even better than the showcase, I was just too lazy to redo all the cropping and pasting.

I've been a bit quiet on here, but I'm working fairly hard in the background. It's possible that I won't be able to complete both of these two until next month, what with life being a little busy at the moment, but I'm sure gonna try to get them out this month!
So I'm super happy with where the textures are right now. I'm still not done with them, but I'm very happy with the direction I'm taking. Leagues better than my last version.

Just an update on the first of this month's models. Trying a new technique for some rougher, leathery skin. I'm not sure I'll be able to live up to the quality of a AAA studio, but I plan on getting as close as I can.
Also I am officially moved in to the new place. Internet is faster over wifi here than it was with a hardline at the old place. Fiber optic for the win, baby!

The prospect of moving has not led to the most motivation or time to work on Blender things. I did manage to render these out over the last bit, and the tail pic is actually an update to the rigs I'll be pushing out at some point.
In all honesty, I have no idea how to rig a tail with the amount of precision I want, while keeping it user friendly. So this is a bit finicky, but if you're willing to put up with a bit of posing tedium, it will be a worthwhile upgrade.

By a technicality, since the tiebreaker ended in a tie, but I saw that one choice was always playing catchup to the other and so the one that was in the lead the most often is going to be the winner.
It's the Sangheili and Skirmisher. I was honestly expecting Sly and Murray to do better than they did, but I'm down to make some aliens in May. They might not be done in May, however. I am moving out at the end of April, and the Canadian rental market is utter BS.

Guarantee they roleplay the classic Good vs Evil dynamic, and in this case Good has triumphed. Evil is being taught a harsh (though loving) lesson in justice. Not that Evil seems to mind.

I have them uploaded, I have them ready, and I am excited to get them to you all!
They come with a few poses in their pose Libraries. Plus any pose is pretty easy to copy-paste from Jake to DD and vice versa. The DD rig is scaled to 1.15x Jakes, but I have yet to see it break anything when posing the character and copying poses from one to the other.

Some renders of the two I finished. Largely the same pose aside from the expressions, showing the copy/paste compatibility between the two. Obviously the most different parts are the faces, so they don't transfer very well. but everthing else is super compatible.
Got the shapekeys for a smile, some real good backside stretching, and even som lip puckering done as well. DD is smiling with just such a shapekey!

A bit slow lately, dealt with some flu this week so haven't had the most productive time, but I did manage to get the Courtyard complete! I'll post some renders of it later on to show off the work.
Also pretty close to Jake and DD going into the Asset Library as well. I'll put the courtyard in there first, since I know I'm happy with where it's at. All the furniture is very tail conscious for our dragon friends.

The good ol' texture update. Mostly stone construction since that's pretty much all my references had. A bit of wood on the window frames as well as some metal on the doors.

Still not feeling like doing another interior, so I went halfway with a courtyard.
Not technically fitting for the models I made this month, but I have wanted a Villa Courtyard for some time. I'd say since I played Assassin's creed 2?
