GURPS101: More Imbuement Skills
A couple of imbuement skills I've used for my campaigns or games where I've played. Figured I'd share a few of them with you guys.

Another article I wrote has come out today. This was one is all about using GURPS Dungeon Fantasy in "the Mysterious East". I think it's pretty good over all and I wish I'd had more wordcount, but I'm satisfied with how it turned out. Here's some Designer's Notes and a couple of outtakes.
It's a roach! It's a crocodile! It's an unholy combination straight from the mind of Walter "Nymdok" Wilson. Apparently, Nymdok likes to wander the wasteland like some sort of bizarre apocalyptic Darwin. Apparently, at the end the cockroaches will be there and they will be mutated.
Like all
Triple Threats,
I offer a multiple designs depending on the GURPS framework being used (e.g.,
Monster Hunters
). One thing...

A couple of thoughts on making the Sorcery magic system a bit more low-key.
http://www.ravensnpennies.com/2016/03/gamemasters-guidepost-making-every.html
No GM is perfect - lots of us strive to be, but unless you have a computer in your head ("I got 80 GB in my head!") you won't be 100% (or even 80% or 90%) all the time. If you can't accept that you're just setting yourself up for failure. There are a lot of things you can do as the GM to improve the e...
2016-03-22 09:07:33 +0000 UTC View PostToday's post is actually a rule originating from my Aeon campaign setting. It was originally meant to combine multiple rules systems (Godlike Extra Effort, Corruption, and Threshold Magic) into a single cohesive whole to fit a thematic concept from the campaign world. But after looking at it some I quickly realized that it could work for any campaign or genre with the right justification. It suits campaigns were the old axiom of "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely" as well as ...

Danger! Watch yourself! Show me what your attacking me with! Danger Sense is one of those traits that looks good on paper, but like Psychometry or Precognition makes certain sorts of plots absolutely screwy. I talk about it a bit from a GM's perspective in today's Gamemaster's Guidepost ju...

Playing around with some rules and ideas and this gem popped into my head. Basically, how to use Sorcery at default. Enjoy

The new After the End book 1 is out started a long-awaited series. I've yet to do an in depth review (mostly because there have been a ton done already), but one thing I really liked as I looked at the book was PK's "Long-Term Fatigue" mechanic. It's simply brilliant. It gets rid of on...

A nasty monster for a nasty cold. I'm still under the weather, but here's a new critter to contend with. (This is the creation of Hal "Wavefunction" Batty - not my own. Thanks for the contribution, Hal!)
I'm taking a week off - I'm currently sick with a upper respiratory infection and I just can't concentrate long enough to gather my thoughts for more than a few paragraphs. I'll be back next week. Till then. Stay GURPSy, my friends.

It's so cute and fuzzy! Today's totally cute Triple Threat is like a sugar glider had a baby with an electrical outlet. Don't let that cute mug fool you - this lethal little creature can put you into cardiac arrest simply by touching you. If a lot of them get together you're probably going to be a cinder before your corp...
2016-02-23 06:27:12 +0000 UTC View PostSlam! Da duh duh...Let the delvers be delvers. Today's post is all about Dungeon Fantasy knights. Those hard-biting,shield-toting, masters of weaponry can always use some more tricks to use against monsters. With new power-ups and gear for "sword and board" fighters why don't you come take a look?

So what sort of topic would you guys like me to cover for the March Mega-Special? Want a compendium of stuff from my blog? Something else? I want to know. Let's say between 2,200 and 3,400 words on the subject.

Today is GURPS-Day and today I'm riffing off something that came up on the blogosphere: tabletalk and ruleslawyering. How do you deal with it? Well, I've expanded it a bit to talk about the three main malefactors of gaming: the rules-lawyer, the meta-gamer, and the munchkin.
