Today is GURPS day and I do some musing on my new supers setting, Aeon. With two games in the campaign setting, one online and one face to face both opportunities and challenges present themselves in equal measure. I talk about a few.

So how did 2015 go for me? Not bad, not bad at all.
Like the previous installment, today’s Special is all about the experiment from GURPS Monster Hunters. With new abilities for your favorite Frankenstein or Prometheus person, what could possibly go wrong with making a monster...

So occasionally I see a forum post I like and I decide to answer it on my blog. That's pretty much what this post is about.

Some session recaps from the Vault.
So this is the first of it's kind: a "Patreon Mega-Special." In this case, it's a short adventure for Dungeon Fantasy. Merry Christmas everyone and have a happy New Year.

It's Christmas Eve and I've yet to sleep. Thought I'd go ahead and post this since tomorrow I'll be busy most of the day. It's a couple of notes on my "Vehicle Imbuements" article. You can imbue anything, you know? I wonder what I'll imbue next...

Blargh. I'm in the middle of finishing the renovations for my room so everything's a mess - but hey, have some really nasty bugs to toss at your players they will "thank you" and by thank you I mean stick a d4 in your eye.
Ever need a quick adventure for your Monster Hunters game? A real fast jump off point you can use without putting too much effort into it? Well today's Patreon Special is exactly that. With enough info to get started, but allow the GM the wiggle room he needs, stats for a new monster to fight, a new relic, and a couple of new spells.
Today one of my long-time articles came out in Pyramid. I'm pretty proud of it. Read here for how this sucker came about.

Today's post is a quick review of Elizabeth McCoy's new book.
Gamemaster's Guidepost: Dungeon Fantasy Loot Rolls
"Let's go fight a dragon!" "Okay!" 10 hours later.... "THE LOOT! THE LOOT! THE LOOT IS ON FIRE!" "We don't need that loot, let it burn!" "Wait...what?" Okay. You're on a roll gamemastering your litter of murderhobos and suddenly you need some treasure. Any treasure. Oh, god what will you do? I got you covered with my random loot tables that also include new rules on how to quickly adjudicate treasure in GURPS Dungeon Fantasy. 2015-12-06 05:27:12 +0000 UTC View Post
Continuing Scott "Rocketman" Rochat's guest blogging mini-series on how writing and GMing have more in common than you might think.

Some very short notes for my latest Pyramid article before I head out to my nightly Tuesday game.

Scott "Rocketman" Rochat is my first guest-poster on my blog. He's got some pretty cool stuff to say about being a Gamemaster, check it out.
The Dungeon Fantasy bard has got to be one of my favorite of the basic templates. It brings back the old school feel of bards being a little bit of, well, all classes. But in GURPS Dungeon Fantasy you can get so much more out of a single template with a lens. Today's post is all about the bard with a martial bent - the warsinger. He pounds the drums of battle and leads his allies into the thick of the fray. With a new lens, power-ups, songs, and more today's post will be useful for anyone intere...

http://www.ravensnpennies.com/2015/11/gurps101-tactfully-tactical-more-uses.html
So Douglas Cole posted "interesting" things on the Tactics skill (see what I did there, Doug? ~_^) and I thought I'd toss out a few ideas of my own on Tactics. Today is GURPS day and since I'm going to be busy most of the day I figured I'd go ahead and post this ahead of schedule. So what can Ta...

When the money is magic and magic is money, sometimes casting spells can be funny. More seriously, what if money was actually stabilized FP in Dungeon Fantasy? Well, I got a few ideas.
So I'm kicking off a new blog series on Tuesday and I wanted to throw down my reasoning for *why*.

Some quick designer's notes on my "Pointless Monster Hunting" article from Pyramid #3/83: Alternate GURPS IV.
I'm at a charity for my local Extra Life running GURPS demos tonight, but that doesn't mean I'm going to forget my patrons! Today's Patreon Special is a bit...experimental. Well, it's about experiments. Well, it's about GURPS Monster Hunter experiments. Those guys need more powers to draw from. So I made up a couple.
http://www.ravensnpennies.com/2015/11/melee-academy-reordering-initiative.html
I like toying around with GURPS assumptions sometimes. I rarely get to use them in my own game because when I play with the rules it's usually a "what if" vs. a "I need to patch a hole!" Today I noodle about reordering GURPS initiative with a couple of different approaches.

Awww! Look at that. It's a cute little lizard-thingy. But wait. It's sitting on a pile of something....hollowed out bones. DEAR GLOB, LOOK AT THE BONES! Don't pet near it! Don't touch it! It's going to... Well, that could be you. Anyways, I'm back in the saddle and I thought I'd throw down a fresh Triple Threat (now ...

I'm going on vacation for my birthday and a few other sundry reasons. Read on if you want to know why. (Make sure you read the thread and comment if you have requests for material or subject matter you want me to cover.)
In the days of yore with splatbooks galore there sat merely one for the bards. It had makers of riddles, throwers of daggers, and even those who sung songs with their blades. But then one day the splatbooks went away only to come back as something new to play.
Okay, enough rhyming. So I made this new template variant for
Dungeon Fantasy
bards that bring them closer to nature. With new abilities and a new Power Modifier ("Wild Song"),...
